Great features lacking pro finish
I already own an RC20 , and have done some wild stuff with it. Because of all the inputs , and the solid knob I most often used it as a live mixer for voice /guitar.
I needed something next level for my synth rig and WOW did this do the trick. Not only can I run all my synths through it but also have eliminated several multi effect units from my live setup. As a looper it does everything the RC20 did×2 with more, and better sync options. Best live looper I have ever used. AMAZING for sound design, writing sketchpad, and live performance. Build quality could be improved, not the usual Boss quality one expects.
Brings inspiration and is dripping with possibilities.

Full featured & excellent value
The loop station is easy to setup & work with - I had it up and running within 30 minutes. It sounds great and basic operation, including MIDI control, is easy to implement. The unit is deep - there are a lot of features that will take time to fully master. The manual is pretty good but finding specific information can be difficult. The PC software is really rudimentary and a bit of a disappointment however - most of the Boss Tone Studio software packages are fully featured so that you can program the connected device through them. The RC-202's though is nothing more than a way to import and backup loops.

Nice but still little brother
Lacks a lot of features that the RC-505 has but then that's what you pay for. Seems a bit cheap made of plastic but works well and has very good features and capabilities to connect more than one looper together with MIDI sync.

Best Looper for the money
If your a looper , buy this one or its bigger brother the 505.
It so much fun using this device, the effects you can use on input and output make it possible to alter the song compleetly
It very easy to use, but there is 1 setback and it is the srceen, it needs a bigger screen , but when downloading the extra manual it becomes clear , and after a while you know the device inside and out.

my first ever loopstation
this is how i started my solo project as a portuguese musician "Meta". My voice is the main instrument and with this loopstation I could potentialize the voice and turn into something more. this right here was the start. Very intuitive and very nice effects.

A very good looper that is unfortunately complicated
In terms of build, this looper is excellent. Plastic but robust, so far has survived a lot. In terms of features, it can do whatever you can think of and more.
In terms of sound, layering lot of sounds they still sound flawless despite lot of layers, the built in effects are good and very useful.
The build in headphone jack , interface feature and drum machine are good and useful for live looping sessions. Connecting this unit with other pedals does not produce any weird artefacts or distortion.
The part I don't appreciate, the settings are incredibly complicated and the manual is not very helpful. This is definitely a looper for advanced users only and expect to do extensive setup before you are up and running.

First looper for me
I'm incredibly satisfied with the product. I use it at home and live performance. I thought there would be separate effects for input instruments and mic but that's not that bad, you can get used to it. If using a guitar you better buy a footswitch too. It has loads of useful features which is very nice.
