My favourites!
These are pretty much my favourite strings ever. Why? Because of the tone and because of the smoothness of the strings. The coating means I can move faster up and down the neck when playing barre chords (which I do a lot).
I play a lot so have to change strings quite often. It is a bit of a bummer when one snaps because I often end up changing the whole lot and that can get expensive. But on the whole, great tone, great feel, usually last loads longer than normal strings.

2 successful years on an acoustic
Well, yes, I got these to my dad's Takamine and they're still good, bright and in tune. Great solution if you have more guitars and want to keep them alive!

gotta love the elixir...
These strings rock, not perfect for gigs in my opinion... but perfect for the home, and ideal for scenarios ( like damp winters, or sweaty hands )
Elixirs are on my acoustics 99% of the year, and the cost is worth it because they hold-on longer before losing brightness, compared with every other brand I've tried....
If you're unsure about what acoustic strings to buy:
- buy these
- buy a string-winder ( item no.: 122787 )
You will be able to change your strings slightly slower than with normal strings, at a marginally higher cost. You will only lose out tonally, if you wait too long to change strings ( 2-8 weeks depending upon usage, and cleaning, storage )

Best ones
I use on all guitars. Tried all kinds, these suit me most because they last long. Maybe if I'm going to a studio and if I'm using an expensive guitar I would get a better set of string for that one day of studio. Because these are coated and already have a layer on them so they are dampened just a bit so they can stay fresh longer. But I rarely go to studio with an expensive guitar so I need it to last long.

The last really long...
...compared to ay other strings I've used. I'm not gentle with my strings at all and I change Elixir strings after 8-10 gigs. I don't clean them at all, I just wait for the 1st string to break and than change all. It was now the first time my G string broke at the end of 2nd gig, never happened before in such a short time.
They do sound a bit metal, but their sound lasts until they break. Usually, If I use cheaper strings they loose their rich sound in the middle of the gig. So, until I find something cheaper for the same quality, Elixir remains my strings.

You can't go wrong with these strings: the money you pay now will be compensated greatly by the satisfaction in your fingers, your ears and the fact that you won't have to change strings so often.

I ordered these strings to get a more pronounced low end to the sound of my acoustic guitar. It was an experiment and while the strings are great, I think they were not the best choice for me, I prefer the light string set. Quality is fine though!

Wouldn't use any other string!
Don't think i've ever broken one of these bad boys and to be fair...i hit them hard after about 9 pints of the black shtuff with a crowd going mental for "Celtic Symphony"! I don't know how but after about 10 gigs, 20 rehearsals with sweaty, (grubby after setting up the gear) fingers, keeping in mind they never get a wipe or polish, the still manage to sound clear, bright and like new/newish strings! Now they will deadin a bit but nothing to the martin strings which will sound like double bass strings after a week of playing how much is that doggy in the window to your 3 year old!

Well worth it!
Lets face it, normal strings are usually losing their sound after a couple of gigs. The brightness seems to disappear.
Not with these it wont. Ok they are 3 times the cost of your normal strings of choice but they will last infinitely longer than those. Saving you not only money in the long run but also time changing sets of strings.
I dont use anything other than these now.
Try them, think you will be impressed.

Excellent
Excellent but too thick for my taste. It"s not the products fault, I wanted to try it.
