Good strings

I was using those strings for almost three years.

I started using them (probably) because of Jeff Beck (no idea, what strings he is really using).

Then I had a “lifetime” deal and changed the strings I used, but Ernie Balls will stay always in memory of my fingers and ears.
Very, very good strings.
Beautifully sounding. Round, full, reach.

Usually i use the super slinky heavy bottom ones but these are really good too. They feel slightly heavier than the normal ones but sound a lot heavier. It's like you scale up a gauge without having to play with a heavier one.

Bon son mais manque de souplesse

J'ai monté mes Ernie Ball la semaine dernière. Je voulais essayer d'autres cordes. Au montage, très bonne impression: lorsque on les fait sonner, on sent nettement tout le manche vibrer! D'ailleurs, je n'ai jamais réussi à accorder ma guitare aussi facilement (sans ampli, à vide).
Je trouve le son très bon.
Je trouve les 2 cordes les plus aiguës rigides. Il m'a fallu un bon temps d'adaptation et du travail pour arriver à pratiquer les full bends correctement.
Bref, de très bonnes cordes, mais un peu difficiles à manier à mon goût.

Große Enttäuschung

Ich muss gleich zu Anfang sagen, dass ich seit Langem Elixir-Saiten spiele. Da jetzt verschiedene andere Hersteller auch beschichtete Saiten anbieten, dachte ich mir, es könnte interessant sein, mal was Anderes auszuprobieren. Ich entschied mich für Ernie Ball und bestellte die Saiten hier bei Thomann. Leider war das Ganze ein totaler Reinfall und absolut rausgeschmissenes Geld. Die umsponnenen Saiten sind eine einzige Katastrophe.

Sie schwingen nicht vernünftig gleichmäßig und parallel zum Griffbrett sondern "kreisen" und erzeugen massiv klirren. Die A-Saite war so schlecht, dass man die Intonation der Gitarre nicht mehr einstellen konnte. Ich musste diese Saite sofort wieder runternehmen und durch eine andere ersetzen. Man könnte jetzt vermuten, dass ich einen "Montags-Satz" erwischt habe, was ja auch sein kann. Nur bei einer derart teuren Saite (kostet fast so viel wie Elixir) wie diesen Ernie Balls, sind derartige Qualitätsschwankungen absolut indiskutabel.

Jedenfalls bin ich "geheilt" und kehre reumütig zu Elixir zurück.
