Great replacement/upgrade for any suitable guitar!
I purchased this nut to replace a stock one on a ?partscaster? that I?m building. I have an old Strat style guitar (unbranded) that I got over ten years ago when first starting out. Recently, I decided to replace almost all of the hardware and make this guitar into something a little more unique and more enjoyable to play to encourage me to pick it up more often.
The pros:
- Noticble increase in sustain
- Improved tuning stability
- Easy to shape (if required)
- The price!
The cons; as of yet, I have had no issues with this product and consider it far superior when compared to other stock nuts from various other big brand guitars I own. The guitar has been well played in the six months since this purchase and has continued to impress.
This product, although small and inexpensive, has made a very noticeable difference to the guitars look and sound and would be my first choice when replacing the nut on any similar style guitar in the future.

Great nut, worth its relatively high price
I use this and similar Graph Tech nuts on most of my guitars. Yes, they really give that smooth tuning manufacturer promises. Nut is well made, it?s easy to cut and set precisely, even with a relatively basic tools.
These nuts are expensive when compared to plastic ones, but they are much better than plastic. You pay for this thing once, and it just saves your nerves for years to come.

Missing sustain?
You wont believe how much your nut affect your sustain.
I bought it initially to correct/avoid tuning issues, but beside letting the string slide properly, I have noticed the sustain on my open notes have increased noticeably.
I believe I have Killed 2 birds with one stone, as I got the result I was looking for and a bit more that i cannot complaint about.
Small mod for a solid improvement.
Recommended.

GRAPH TECH BLACK TUSQ
This is a very, nice product easy for shaping and is very useful if you want a high nut to shape it with the proper neck radius. I bought this nut for my homebuilt strat with a unusual flat neck radius, I have been through 3-4 different nut and this one fits the best.

I haven't used these since it wasn't the right size. However I did get the "Graph Tech PT-5000-00" which is the same but different size.
I'm loving the experience i'm having with these Graph Techs. They are perfect if you want to make subtle Tremolo effects with the whammy bar without having to retune them after every try.

Excellent tuning stability
Since I put this one on my trusty '98 USA Standard Strat, I can get pretty wild on the trem without any tuning issues. Didn't hear anything change tonewise, but then my hearing above 9K is gone... Easy install. A little height adjustment with some sandpaper, starting with 120 and ending with 600 grit, and you're good. A good tech will do it in no time for a few bucks though, if you're reluctant.

Nice upgrade from the standard plastic nut. I would personally consider a slightly wider string spacing.

Ordered this for the T-style HB kit here, had to sand it to make it fit.
My experience with the Graph Tech is that this is a greate upgrade to any guitar that dont have a premium nut. First class product.

Best nut for Strat
Better than any grease or oil in the nut - using this nut was like having a new guitar: tuning stays like a rock - even on hard bendings or using vibrato. Perfect - I just needed to cut it for my .10 strings.
