Does what it's supposed to do
Benjamin I. 24.05.2016
Plugged it into my Peavey Envoy, works as the Peavey manual says it should: one switch turns the volume boost on and off, the other selects the distorted or clean channel, without a popping sound, it's perfectly silent electronically.

However the hollow housing acts as a small resonant box, so the mechanical sound of the steel switches is enhanced. I find it a bit annoying, so I cut sponges in pieces, and stuffed them inside the housing to dampen the clicking sound, and it works.

When I opened it, I saw clean and full soldering; plus, the copper wires are not too thin. There was a bit of aluminum dust but I brushed it away. The housing is rather thick metal, and the side panels are tough plastic. The whole thing is rugged against shocks and the pressure of the player's weight.

The cable is okay but its rubber is not stiff and thick as a good guitar cable like my Klotz, so I give it only 4 stars. The jack locks firmly onto the amp's rear panel. The other end of the cable is crimped on the stompbox's panel, the arrangement looks quite solid, you can't budge it if you pull it.

The bottom has two rubber pads that don't wear out easily, and grip pretty well. An anti-scratch paint rounds up the thing. I don't travel with it but the footswitch looks like it should last long even if you do.

W
Bargain Double Footswitch
Wardle 29.08.2018
I bought this to go with a new Boss Katana 50. With the V2 firmware I wanted a 2 button pedal to access the 4 available banks. To be honest, when I added this to my cart I was a little dubious about whether it would be compatible with the Katana but at ¤13 I thought "why not?".

Tested this with the amp last night and it works flawlessly. The build quality (for ¤13!!) is very good and it seems robust. The lead is long, though is perhaps a little thinner than a high quality cable but no cause for concern.

The switches seem to engage without any issues and are similar to switches that cost multiples of this price.

Overall this is an absolute bargain for anyone who just needs a simple 2 button switcher - it costs just 20% of the price of the Boss double switch!

B
Good Quality and Cheaper
BillDL 21.08.2020
Works on Boss Katana 50 MkII for simple channel and bank switching, and with other amps I have that take a single stereo jack and need "latching" switches. If you don't need LEDs to remember whether the button is on or off, then this pedal is VERY much cheaper than big brand names and even some lesser known ones. Good sturdy body and good positive feel on switches. If you don't know what footswitch you need for your amp you need to ask an expert at Thomann. Generally ones with no LEDs will work on nearly all amps that use 2-button switching, but ones with LEDs don't always work on as many different amps without modification. I hate stiff cables that kink or very thick and heavy ones. This one is nice and rubbery and just the right thickness. SO much cheaper for the same thing than elsewhere.

A
A Great Product!
Anonymous 15.12.2015
I bought this as a replacement for the Peavey FS2 footswitch which came with my Peavey Valveking head. The Peavey Switch is very poor quality because the lead is not firmly secured into the chassis of the switch, meaning that if the lead is pulled too hard the soldered connection will break. Fixing it was very frustrating.

The Lead Foot FS-2 is simple, economical and well made. It features two switches, one for channel selection and the other for mode selection (so it works best for a two channel, four mode amp). The Lead is a decent length, so you won't have to worry about live situations. I bought mine over 18 months ago and it has seen regular use both at home and on stage, and I have never had a problem with it.

Overall, an excellent and very economical product.

PR
Magnificent.

I have 3 top name guitar amps, all with frighteningly expensive plastic foot switches that are long time broken and because of the replacement price, I don't use them much.
this foots switch fits all 3 and works perfectly well, it's made of good metal (mostly) and looks like it will far outlast any of the others @ 1/10th the cost of one of the originals.

Affordable pedal
Paul705 20.02.2014
The Lead Foot FS-2 is an affordable alternative if you are looking for an pedal for an amp that has both a channel switcher and a booster function (or some kind of on-board effect unit). The important question is whether your amp has a socket for a stereo jack. This is common for e. g. Marshall, H&K, and Engl amps.

The build quality of the FS-2 is okay. Of course you don't get an unbreakable device for that small price but you can sure trust it on stage. The spot where the cable goes into the books looks stable and should be able to stand some stress.

However, the major problem with the FS-2 is that it doesn't have LEDs to show the status of your amp. That may sound as a minor issue but on stage you will be thankful if you have an overview at one glance. so if you want to use it more than only occasionally you should consider to spend the money for one of the more expensive alternatives.

Loud clicks, but you get what you pay for
Thomuel 30.04.2023
It's a little difficult to pitch a review for this because it's objectively not an amazing footswitch, but it's also very, very cheap and does the job it needs to do. Buttons feel pretty ropey and make a lot of noise, but I guess 5 stars in context.

It works and takes a beating
rui_andre 15.11.2023
It does its job very well. Switches are ok for heavy use and easy to replace. I bought it to use with an old Peavey Bandit and button 2 works fine. Also tested this device with Marshall and Fender amps. It works.
