Sizewise, the kit looks like a toy/junior kit.
I'm *only* giving it 4 stars because the only tom is too small.
I have another Ludwig kit and was hoping to use my toms unaltered.
I bought a double-tom holder and managed to fit my 12 inch tom. Sadly, the other one is too heavy (and I don't want to change the fittings).
If I can get a 13 or 14 inch tom to fit, I'll be happy.
Bass drum, snare and floor tom are decent. If you're a very loud drummer playing in a loud band, you may not like this kit.
If you're a more subtle and versatile drummer ;) - properly miked up, you'll love the kit.
Although not affecting the drumming, I've got mine in a nice black glittering colour.
My only grumble is that there should be *2* decent size toms.

Best compromise ever
I needed a kit with a smaller sound to suit my room and a piano, and this kit is very good for the money.
If I was to design this kit,
1. I would definitely choose a smaller snare,
2. and put more attention to the kick drum stand, as a regular flat beater won't hit it correctly ? one needs to buy either totally adjustable or kind of sphere shaped beater.
3. Also, a single 13-inch floor tom does not seem a universal option. I feel like adding both 12- and 14-inch toms now.
Some metal/wood junctions are wobbling.
Conclusion: a good starter for those who have never had drums before and wouldn't risk their money.

Great little kit!
Bought this kit to use for band practices and for gigs where space is limited. I've been amazed by the quality of the drums and the sound achieved.
The kit looks the part and the price via Thomann was the best that I could find anywhere.
I unpacked the kit, gave it a quick tune and was amazed at how it sounded straight out of the box. The Toms are particularly sweet, even with the stock heads on. The snare is adequate and by cranking up the rest head the drum comes alive. The bass drum needs some playing with to get a great sound, but once the heads are beded in it fattens up nicely.
I've also tried the kit through a large PA system. With a decent bass drum mic on the bass drum it sounds great.
I would highly recommend this kit. A really hand set up to have for tight spaces and it all fits in the boot of my hatch back car too!

Great Kit for Small Clubs
I bought this kit to be able to rehearse at home (jazz), but what ends happening is the drummers I play with ask to use it on our gigs. Sounds surprisingly good for the price and size, the only downside would be the finish isn't very good, there are some bubbles popping up, and also one of the bass drum rims came a little warped. Doesn't affect the sound in any way, but quality control could be a little bit better

Small, but perfectly formed.
Just the thing for a small home/project studio. Great tone and build quality, and although the bags aren't much more than dust covers, they'll do in a home studio stacked in a corner when not in use. Now, where is the limited edition black oyster model.....
