Quirky & Rare Sounding Percussion!
Alex London 30.05.2016
If you are into rare sounding percussion which can offer and alternative to the usual sounds found in a percussive set box or if you are generally looking for something different the Meinl Helix Bowl aka Saragosa Line should definitely be at the top of your list!

It produces an either sharp or smooth metallic sound (depending on the way or baguette you play it with) and it can be used/played in a variety of ways. I tried it first dry and then processed via my pedals & FX machines and the results were truly stunning both ways. However, when run though the pedals, delays & reverbs, one can definitely create otherworldly and Space-Age like FX & Sounds.

This percussion is definitely one of a kind and the sound it produces is loud, clean, precise and powerful. The build quality is also excellent, the Saragosa Line is heavy, sturdy and build with love & care - it definitely isn't a cheap piece of percussion.

Highly recommended!

Unusual

This is an unusual and distinctive sound so will have limited usage, but I really like it. I create sensory shows for people with special needs so unusual sounds are something I collect and also use for sound effects. I like how the bowl amplifies the sound and when you put it on some kind of sound board it carries and amplifies the sound really well.

A little expensive
Philip3830 28.03.2022
Interesting enough but limited in scope. The bowl feels a little light but it seems well made. It's a little expensive for what it is. I have a collection of odd sounding percussion instruments and this is nice to have within it.

Amazing!
Noeliab 16.12.2020
What an amazing little instrument! It can sound like a dijiridoo or a Brazilian berimbau. I am using it for sound healing sessions and rituals, to help clients to release emotions and for grounding. The mallet has two sound options, which gives a lot of versatlity. Placed over the chest allows to play with the opening and closing of the circular base. I am really charmed by this instrument.
