Perantucci PT88+ tuba mouthpiece
Tom5550 10.03.2014
Tried this mouthpiece following advice in Bass Playets Union. Can't fault it. I've changed from a Vincent Bach 12 Megatone, and have found the pedal register much wider and more sonorous. I have a strong embouchure, so haven't had any problems with the upper register up to top C on BBb bass, so to those who have I'd just advise you to persevere. There are no drawbacks to this mouthpiece mouthpiece, and I prefer it to all the Bach's, Mike Finn's, Wick and Loud mouthpieces I already have. Thomann's price eas the best, and I ordered on Saturday night and received it on Monday morning. Try beating service like that!

Very enjoyable mouthpiece
Anonymous 07.01.2017
This mouthpiece, in combination with my King 2341 B flat tuba, gives it a very full and powerful, dark tone without sounding muffled. Albeit dark, there is still enough clarity in the upper register. Easy playable and consistent across the whole range. Some say it's a bit more difficult in the upper range, but appearantly not to me.
It is a huge improvement to me, compared with my Bach mouthpiece which I used before I bought the PT88+.
Also the shipment from Thomann to Belgium went without a hitch.

Great sound for orchestra, especially in low register
Anonymous 06.01.2023
I use this on a Besson Sovereign 981 EEb tuba in an orchestra and a wind band. It gives a big, warm and heavy sound. It takes a lot of air. The low register is good, down to pedal C. It's not so easy playing high, for example the slow movement of the Vaughan Williams tuba concerto. I also use it on a BBb sousaphone

Truly a Great Mouthpiece
Aidan O'Shields 15.06.2023
I normally play on a PT-44 which is another great mouthpiece I highly recommend. Compared to that this mouthpiece has a wider inner rim,
heavier, and a deeper cup. These factors contribute to an amazing dark sound that has a lot of color in the high ranges and a beautifully warm sound in the low range that can pack a punch when you need it. Overall an Amazing mouthpiece that I'd recommend to all Tuba players.
