Remo 14" Ambassador Snare Reso drumhead
Remo has been the leader in the drumhead industry since 1957 when Mr. Remo Belli invented the Mylar drumhead. Remo is my drumhead of choice since I started drumming and my entire professional drumming career. Go for the best and forget the rest. Remo it is.

If you want a bright snare sound, this is the one to choose
People will tell you which is 'best' out of Remo, Evans or Aquarian, but don't believe any of them. They are all good- just choose the one which is best for your ears. Basically, the Remo coated ambassador is the brightest sounding one of them. The Evans sounds darker and the Aquarian one darker still. The Remo one has powder coating which starts to chip off almost immediately, and could be annoying. The Evans ones last longer, and the Aquarian coated heads are bulletproof- they last for ever. However, what I realised is that I don't mind the chipping because I much prefer the brighter remo sound. By the time loads of the coating has chipped off it is time to change the head anyway because it has started to stretch slightly in the middle.
If you are a hard hitter, and don't want a darker snare sound, go for the Remo CS coated head- it is basically one of these with a black spot stuck underneath which stops the stretching and more than doubled the life I got from a head when I was in my 'rock' phase, with only a marginal difference if feel.
I love these heads, and I can't imagine ever changing to another one having experimented with most of the available options.

Not as good as Evans, used to be better
after using REMO for many years, I am sad that the quality of these have decreased so much, the logos are blurry, and there are not consistent shapes on the layers, I thought maybe I am too picky, but then I compared to Evans, and I realised, I am not :)

Classic and versatile
I bought this head for a 90's TAMA snare that i use in a number of different modern genres. Remo is the brand i have used for decades and it never failed me.
Pros: As the title says, its versatility, which is a quality i value very much, as well as the price/quality ratio.
Cons: None as far as i can see or hear.

Always great snare quality from Remo
Remo's fast become my go-to brand for snares, preferring the durability and tone of Evans for toms. This is nicely responsive, durable and easy to tune up.

I love the durability of the snare head, it can tuned very high without any problems, and love the snare wires response on it!

What's not to love!
These Remo Ambassador heads are by far my favourite for my snare drum, not to mention al the other drums on my kit.
The Remo Ambassador snare head, in my opinion allows you to get that perfect snare sound, whatever that may be for you.
These heads can be tuned really tight to give that loud, fantastic snap sound or also tuned lower to give a full fat sounding snare. There really is no limitations to the sounds this head can give.
It provides a nice ring to the drum, but also does not lack that essential muffling.
These heads are used by so many fantastic drummers, Stewart Copland and Dave Weckl are just two that come to mind.
Since using this snare head on my drums I have never questioned its quality or sound, and I would recommend them to anyone.
