Does The Job

Good little cow bell holder.

I use those mainly for the cowbell but also can be adapted to other percussion instruments, for instance I also use it to clip the tambourine on the cymbal stand and it works fine.

Not much you can say about the product , it does what it says on the tin! It lasted so far so no much that can go wrong at this price range.

I tend to review products after I have then for a while as opposed to changing my mind later on.

Thomann service was excellent as usual.

CC
Can damage your bass drum hoop
Christo C 02.10.2014
This cowbell holder is really handy and I use it for both a cowbell and a Latin block, I have a second one the I also use on a washboard! The problem is because the thread is at an angle to the surface of the hoop there is no way for it to be tight enough to stay put without digging IN to the hoop, or staying slightly looser so you have some movement, but that can cause scratches. I have a sh*tty old hoop that I can use but if you're looking for something to put on your "life partner" kit look elsewhere. It will damage it.

I suggest using a dedicated boom arm kitted out for holding those percussion bits and have it dropped over you bass drum.

Cheap Holder

Not great quality. I had to add foam to the clamp to stop it moving around, still doesn't stay tight for long enough, poor grip. It also vibrates weirdly every time i use the bass drum pedal, very distracting and annoying. I've basically stopped using my cowbell because of this clamp which is a shame. I'd recommend getting something better if you're planning on using your cowbell for anything more than a few small accents.

Get what you pay for

This will mount a cowbell to your bass drum rim, but it'll bite the hoop and a bit of plastic or rubber is required to prevent this, but then that prevents it from being tightened down too much. It doesn't really have the angle adjustment either to do much else with it either. I'd prefer a more multifunctional solution, but then is was like 2euro so what did I expect? It has a purpose and it does it.

Good! BUT...
Anonymous 03.04.2017
It doesn't fit all cowbells nicely as the 'arm' is bigger than I thought it would be. It didn't fit on my Pearl cowbell, and it moves quite a lot when on my bass drum. But for the price I paid, I didn't expect much more. Just make sure it's the right one for your cowbell/percussion and you'll be fine.

This holder was advertised as the companion for Thomann PB2 Power Block large red but it's not. Watch out.

Really Pleased

It does exactly what I need it to. I've clamped by cowbell to the top of my bassdrum. It doesn't move or wiggle and the stem is the perfect length to not get in the way of the toms etc. I suspect I'll never need to buy another cowbell holder!

Too thick for some LP cowbells
Animale 13.08.2020
I think this is also a licensed model, because you can see other manufacturers having this with almost no difference.

I only use this on hired drums, not on privately owned drums. They will scratch your rim after multiple use, You'll need to put something protective in between if you don't want scratches.

But I also found out with it’s 10,6 mm diameter, unfortunately you won’t get a worthy cowbell like a LP 322 on it. Even a 10 mm won’t fit.
You’ll have to get the LP rods, or the 9,3 mm Tama (or Meinl) rods for that, and that means a different BD clamp that supports these rods.

So if you really want something that will universally fit all percussive items with a rod clamp hole, this is not the one to have.
And it loses 2 stars for that because you know, when you make a cowbell holder and you forget to make it suitable for LP cowbell……that’s pretty lame.
