Taken for Granted
Cornelius Quandary 06.11.2020
You know, with a lot of gear I like "The Hunt". Deliberating over minor details and specs. When needing a case for a Jazz Bass, I didn't hunt. I just looked for Thomann's standard case and I bought it without thinking much about it. It came. Its nice. It gets hammered every week for months & I never think about it... Until I'm prompted to write a review. I think about it and... yeah... what a bargain. Cheap enough I didn't deliberate. Quality enough I have never questioned it. Maybe the purchases we end up taking for granted were the best ones?

t
Wonderful case !
tnemelc 29.01.2018
- Build quality : because of some of the other comments, I was expecting a flimsy case. Although the hinge part could be a bit better, it feels sturdy to me and very good for the price.

- Look and feel : really good, especially the lining inside which looks fantastic

- Protection : My Cort Artisan fits perfectly inside and doesn't move an inch. I'm very cautious with my bass even when it's in the case so I can't really say what would happen if you bashed it heavily. I expect it to withstand some banging around in the back of the car and minor shocks but not being dropped from 3 meters high (well, maybe the bass would be saved, but the case would be ruined)

All in all a very good product, especially considering the price tag. One of the other comments mentioned a dark residue coming off the lining inside, but I did not observe such a thing. There was a chemical smell coming from inside at first (possibly due to the glue) but airing it out for 3 days was enough to get rid of it.

As always, Thomann provided absolutely stellar service !

B
Better than Fender
BluesAddiction 17.08.2019
I'd bought a Jazz Bass in New York & taken it back to London with me on the plane with the original Fender hard case. From there it went to Dubai - also by flight in the same case. After the two flights the clasps were damaged - largely due to a poor design.
The Thomann E-Base case is a much sturdier design & I've used it for several trips since buying it. The design is better, the value very good & best of all it does the job!

I guess it does the job.

I bought this for my Fender Am Perf P-Bass,
Pros:
+The bass fits!
+Seems to protect the guitar from physical damage, as well as light rain.
+Pastic is pretty hard.
+The handle isn't that bad (this worried me when buying it in the first place)
+Looks very nice from both the outside and the inside

Cons:
-Buckles sometimes don't line up, so it's sometimes not as simple as just closing it and buckling it up, you have to pull the whole top part with a bit of force to one side (might be just a manufacturing glitch)
-very little space for anything really (i can fit two cables, a tuner, a strap and little things, however my GT-1B cannot fit in the side compartments, it can only go under the head of the bass and I don't want it to scratch)
Some subjective additions that I'd take into mind before buying:
1) This is a pretty heavy case + the bass it really does weigh a ton, so be ready to switch out those arms every 5 minutes of walking
2) This is a one-case-fits-all - there will be wiggle room for the body, but it isn't as bad as you'd think.
3) The locking mechanism is useless. It might deter children from touching your guitar, though anything more than that... it cannot do.

Would I recommend buying this case?
- Yes, if you want to protect your bass, this is a pretty good bang for the buck. No, if you have to walk for a long time to gigs or rehearsals with your 50$ bass.

Remarkably good for the price
Wexxy1337 23.04.2022
It's a standard hard case and fits most basses. Great build quality I only gave it 4 stars as there could be more padding. I have added my own foam sponge for the head and bottom to create a tighter fit. The locks are surprisingly decent for the price. One thing to note there was a profound chemical smell upon opening it but letting it air out on the balcony for an hour resolved that and the smell didn't return. I've had the case for over a year now and it's stood up well minimal signs of wear and no damage to the contents.

I should also mention it has lots of space for extra strings and one or 2 small pedals nothing too bulky.

Due to the space inside if your looking for something to customise I would probably go for wood over plastic but the inside of this case has enough pockets of space to have some freedom with the layout to do what you want.

All in all you cannot get better in this price range.

Seems good.

Right.

Just got this, I'll update this review as I go on with it.

I needed a replacement for one of my basses I've had from the early 90's.

The original case was done in after travelling around the world for 30yrs.

So, this seems to be well made. It fits the bass really well (Peavy Koa Foundation, if you know, you know.)

It's also got two good compartments so it can fit a bunch more in this than I could with the original case.
I get a Strap, a bug wireless in it's own case, a small cable I use with the wireless, a back up cable and a set of DR stings in no problem.

Feels well made, not too heavy.

Really good value for money (so far).

these cases are just great, ive got another one and its done a year with no dramas, kept my bass safe for both travel to gigs and storage when im not using my instruments and i think its earned its cost to me.

A solid case with minor shortcomings
Pelicashka 22.11.2022
I bought this case for my new Squier Bass VI. The case does indeed fit this instrument, however one would have to make sure the upper strap button on the Squier digs into the case separator a bit. Thankfully, the "plush" is soft enough to give in a make a place for it.

Closing the case I can feel and hear the lid rubbing against the lower part of the case. Not a big deal.

The material of the shell, which is some kind of a plastic, feel sturdy enough, but it's a bit soft, so I wouldn't put anything on top of this case.

However, all in all, considering the price, overall build quality, look and feel, I would recommend getting this case.

I was looking for a high-quality case for my 5-string bass and this one seemed both reliable and at a fair price so I bought it. The bass has travelled across countries without any problems.
I believe it's an excellent choice.

Great quality at a reasonable price
Fred \\\"12th Fret\\\" Anson 22.03.2023
I own two of these cases and I couldn't be happier with them. They are rugged, well-made cases.

The only thing that you should be aware of (and the reason why I didn't give the case a full 5-star rating) is that there isn't a cover for the stowage compartments, but that was easily fixed by simply putting my tuner and other loose items into mesh stuff bags.

But that's a minor annoyance for such a great case! I suspect that you will love this case as much as I did.
