Used the case for an Arturia MiniBrute
Anonymous 22.06.2016
A while back I bought an Arturia MiniBrute synth. At home it has been kept in the original box, but when I take it places it has been in an unpadded bag. I decided to look for a suitable case. After measuring the synth I ordered the Mix Case 4044X.
The case is very light for it's size and seems fairly robust. It's not a full flight case, more like a good quality camera case. But for the money it's great.
All the edges are protected by curved aluminium parts and the corners are hard plastic. The panels have a nice diamond texture and seem to be a decent hard wearing plastic.
The lid is lined with a medium density "egg box" foam that's glued in place. The main part is lined with a thin foam liner and has a removable block of square section, divided, foam that's also more towards the medium density. If I was to be honest my only issue was the foam is only sectioned in columns, not cubes, meaning you have to cut the foam to the correct height.
It has two strong looking, lockable, metal catches and metal hinges. The handle is a thick hard plastic with soft rubber padding. The side with hinges and the bottom panel both have 4 small rubber feet each.
As for how well the MiniBrute fits, there's about 1cm of foam left along the short sides and 2cm of foam along each long side. Under the synth there's around 3cm of foam left. So it's a nice snug fit with some protection all around.
All in, for around £40 it's a very nice case that fits my synth perfectly. I feel happier it now has a decent case to protect it.

Good Case, good value, good functionality.

I am a solo performer with acoustic guitar. I use wireless equipment and have a couple of pedals. I needed one case that could carry my guitar system, a couple of mics, spare batteries and other small accessories. So I decided on this case.

When delivered it was very well packaged. It is of a relatively sturdy construction and very well padded inside. It comes with "Pick & Pull" cubes so you can customize the interior to your own design. While the outside may not feel sturdy compared to a heavier duty case, it is very well protected internally with the padding. 2 keys are also supplied to enable secure locking of the case.

All in all a great case at a great price. Thomann products are always excellent value and the reason I return time & time again! Thanks again Thomann. :)

Okay, for what I need it to do

Hi all,
I bought this case for a small Allen & Heath Zed6 mixer - and it does a fine job for that.
I would not recommend the use when you are looking to regularly travel with a larger or heavier mixing console - the case is a bit too flimsy and plasticky in that regard. I can easily bend the sides with my hands, so you couldn't use this mix case and pile other stuff on top of it.
I'd recommend to go out and spend some more money on the more robust cases that Thomann offers (I cant recommend a brand here, but just have a look around and go for a proper flight case ....)

Great case!
Anonymous 26.08.2016
I bought this case to use with my 19" laptop for gigging over a month ago and I'm quite happy with it so far.

I had to add extra interior soft padding for my gator cases so the laptop stays in place, but it still fits a lot of accessories like laptop power supply, in ear receivers and MIDI interface

It's not as solid and durable as I'd like. It cracked a little when it was tucked it in between the equipment in the van with a small amount of force. The locks are a nice addition but the key feels a bit awkward and takes a couple of tries to lock in properly.
