Black Tapewounds
JamesAG 13.02.2020
I was looking for a good compromise between round wounds and flat wounds, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The Warwick tape wounds are a great solution - they are smooth and quiet, but not as muted as flatwounds on my Epiphone bass.

Can be perfect, though dependent on genre of play.
Rander 08.02.2023
Great strings. I used them for a time after a long break because I had issues with blisters on my fingers. The feel is very soft and worked perfectly for my purpose.
However they did eventually get replaced once the calluses had set in, mainly because I was not able to bring out the tone I was used to.
If your playing does not need a lot of twangy overtones and you are content with (powerful) thumpiness, these will almost certainly be a fine choice of strings.

E doesn't emit any sound on electric bass.
The Italian Lazy Bass Tard 26.05.2022
On electric bass E is basically mute. Other strings sound louder as the gauge get down so not only you don't have almost any sound from E but also huge inconsistency in volume on the other strings. Maybe on acoustic bass they works better.

Mediocre, E string lacking volume
alib8 11.07.2022
Fitted these on an Ibanez acoustic bass, E string sounds quite muted acoustically compared to the other strings, but normal output from the pickup. No finger noise like you get with the round wounds. Otherwise alright, nothing special.
