A must-have for every Jaco-Pastorius-Fan!

The arrangements are very exactly, even bendings are shown!
The songs are selected well, all time classics like "Birdland" or "Continuum" are in the book.
It's important to say, that you only have arrangements for characteristical spots in the songs (like licks/ intros / chorus-lines), but even they are selected very well!
Some people like it, when they can read tabs, but I prefer the notes, so both things are shown.

It's a great book for learning more about the legendary Jazz-Bassist!

Ich hatte bisher Pastorius nur gehört, aber nie gespielt, und das Buch auf Basis der Kundenbewertungen bei Thomann bestellt.

Dieses Buch bietet Auszüge (z.B. 1x Vers und 1x Chorus von"Come on, come over" oder das legendäre Intro zu "Birdland"), aber auch ganze Arrangements ("Portrait of Tacy") in Noten und Tabulatur. Ich habe bisher ein Paar Sachen ausprobiert - es wird wahrscheinlich eine Weile dauern, bis ich durch bin :)

Für mich ist das Buch nicht nur ein Schlüssel zur Welt des besten E-Bassisten aller Zeiten, sondern eine Fundgrube von Ideen und Techniken, fast besser als die Bass-Bibel von Paul Westwood (zumindest viel inspirierender). Die Sachen lassen sich auch gut auf einem bundierten Bass spielen, solange es nicht zu viele Flageolett-Töne gibt.

Kann ich jedem empfehlen, unabhängig davon, ob man auf die Musik oder den Ton von Pastorius steht. Dass nicht immer die kompletten Songs transkribiert sind, finde ich fast vorteilhaft - so ist es übersichtlich und mehr Songsmaterial enthalten.
