Shure PSM 300 Premium SE215 S8

Have purchased this system for our singer's on-stage in-ear monitors. I was looking for following features, which the PSM300 easily fulfills:
- low noise floor
- solid RF link (using the S8 version - 823 to 832MHz)
- strong output into the headphones, lots of headroom for volume
- good quality inputs on transmitter, would not easily saturate
- robust construction
Ease of use is a plus, menus are very intuitive. The RF spectrum scan feature looks promising, but could not try it out yet in difficult situations.
I would regret that the connectivity is Jack 6.3mm only and not XLR, but I can certainly live with that.
I am glad that I chose the premium version, with supplied SE215 earbuds, they will offer a very decent backup if the artist has issues with his own in-ears. Meanwhile I will use them for myself in recording sessions.
What costs one star is that the first unit I got did not work, the receiver would not turn on. For a product of this price range, I would not expect out of the box failure.
Kudos to Thomann aftersales who promptly organized a replacement, I am very happy with the second unit.
There are cheaper solutions available, but the PSM300 is worth every Euro, its sound quality is outstanding. The extra few bucks for the Premium (with SE215) are also a good investment.

I'm very happy with this Shure wireless in-ear monitor system. It's easy to set up and you only have to pair the system with the beltpack once, every time you turn both on they will look for each other and connect.

I use it on stage for vocals and have a small mixing panel in a case with the wireless system so I don't have to set up the system with house technicians, for me it's plug and play now and there's no possibility for a house technician to accidentally turn up the volume - which would damage my ears! As far as I have been able to tell there is no 'volume limiter' on the system, which is a shame.

The only downside I experienced was that one of the earplugs of the SE215 set stopped working after only a couple of gigs. But Thomann's service was excellent: they sent me a replacement for it within a week.
And technically this issue doesn't have much to do with the wireless system, the earplugs can be bought separately too and are of good value in my opinion.

In short, I've had no issues with sound dropping out or anything like that. The system serves me very well and I hope to continue using it for a long time.

Remember to use Alkaline batteries in the beltpack! Regular batteries will be flat in no time.

In der Regel lese ich eher Bewertungen als dass ich Sie schreibe, aber in diesem Fall möchte ich mal was zu der Shure Qualität von mir geben.

Ich habe mit das Monitor System Ende Juli 2020 bestellt und bereits das erste System beinhaltete einen defekten Bodypack. Der P3T Empfänger ließ sich nicht einschalten und daher war die Vorfreude auf das neue System schnell dahin. Der Austausch erfolgte durch Thomann vollkommen problemlos und schon ein paar Tage später bekam ich die Austauschlieferung. Das System funktionierte zunächst einwandfrei und bei den Proben stellte sich ein technisch hervorragendes System vor. Der Kopfhörer wurde jedoch schon nach der ersten Probe gegen einen wesentlich besseren Sennheiser ausgetauscht. Hier stellte sich der beiliegende Shure Kopfhörer als nicht so brillant heraus. Dies liegt aber natürlich immer im subjektiven Blickwinkel.

Dann kam der Lockdown und das System ging in den Coronaschlaf. Gestern dann nach Monaten stand endlich die erste Probe an und was soll ich sagen ... ? Der Bodypack hat innerhalb der Pausenzeit wieder seinen Dienst quittiert. Vollkommen unerklärlich. Anschalten nicht mehr möglich, genau wie bei der ersten Lieferung im letzten Jahr. Nach zig Versuchen ging er dann irgendwann an und schon nach einer Stunde Proben ging nix mehr. Nach Batterietausch kein Anschalten mehr möglich. Der Supergau, wenn das komplette Probengeschehen auf In-Ear ausgerichtet ist und man als Sänger nichts mehr hört.

Probe beendet und nun mal sehen wie es weitergeht.

Das System geht zurück an Thomann, die wollen es weiterschicken und auf die Reaktion von Shure warten.

Man muss sich das mal vorstellen. Da bestellt man ein System für 800,- Euro und dann bekommt man sowas unzuverlässiges. Da hatte ich von Shure deutlich mehr erwartet.

Mittlerweile habe ich gehört, dass auch ein Musikerkollege denselben Ärger mit dem System hatte. Auch bei Ihm haben 3 Empfänger dieser Baureihe innerhalb kürzester Zeit aufgegeben.

Mal sehen, was nun Shure dazu sagt.
