Very great sound!
I bought this set for my Mexican Fender Roadhouse Strat, because I am a big fan of Steve Lukather.
Putting it in the guitar was a breeze! So easy and it fit like a glove, and one of the features that sealed the deal for me, solderless connections!
When I put the whole thing together and plugged it in to my amp, I noticed right away a huge difference in not only tone, but also overall volume. They were louder, but not ear-deafening.
The only gripe I had, was a significant difference in volume between the humbucker and the single-coil pickups, but that's a matter of taste I suppose...
However, I would recommend this set to anyone who wants to beef up their guitar's sound or get closer to Luke's sound.

I?ve always been a fan of the 80's
Most of my favourite guitar sounds has come from 80's music. Luke has been one of the biggest influences on me so naturally I wanted to try out these EMG's. I installed them in a american standard Strat.
The first word that comes to mind --> versatility!
You can go from a humbucking fire breathing dragon to a bluesy stratty kinda sound in no time at all... and everything in between. Luke was a session guitarist and therefore needed versatility.
"But EMG's don't sound good. They make every guitar sound generic." No they don't. They might not be your thing, but they are definitely not generic. Granted - they have their own flavour, but it's a flavour I really like. Ohh - and they are dead silent!
The only tiny complaint I have is that the 5 way switch couldn't go fully up in the neck position so I had to cut a bit in the pickguard, but hey that took like 5 seconds.
They are great for recordings. They are great for live usage. I cannot recommend them enough. If you're curious then try them out.

O
Bedste beslutning!
