Engl E412XXL-BK

This monster of a cabinet is as good as a cabinet can be.I play strickly Metal and used it with an Engl Powerball 2,an EVH 5150 and a Laney Ironheart.

Construction : It is build like a tank. I've looked inside it and it is made by high quality multiplywood,reinforced in every corner,thick quality cables and there is even soundproofing on the back.The tolex is durable,the side handles and the removable wheels are heavy duty.

Sound : It has the typical V30 sound but it sounds huge without getting boomy.I've tried most of the high end cabinets and this is by far the tightest and most aggressive of all.There is a high end punch to the sound you wont find in other cabinets.I did however find a bit harsh some high frequencies on the EVH amp so i used an EQ to cut some of the 16khz.So have that in mind if you have a bright amp.

Further Info : The cabinet is front loaded meaning you remove the front grill and you have access to the speakers,really convenient if you want to change them. Also..and that is a big plus for me...the cabinet is a slanted one but on a full construction.Meaning the 2 upper speakers are slanted for better sound projection but the cab is full width.I prefer the look and it is also handy when you have a wide amplifier on top like the EVH.

Cons : It is the heaviest cabinet out there.If you want a cab to move around and take it to gigs forget it. It is also taller and wider so fitting it to a car is difficult..
It might be a bit harsh on the 16khz if your amp is bright.Just a tad but it is there.Have in mind that new V30 speakers have this and they need time to smoothen up.

Conclusion : It is punchy,tight,it sounds huge but wont get boomy even if you crank the bass.Its unique characteristic is that It has aggressive highs that gives that percussive attack.5 stars from me!

Leute, was soll ich sagen? Vom Sound bin ich absolut begeistert! Klar, wohl definiert und mit ordentlich Punch, da gibt von meiner Seite aus nichts zu meckern. In einigen Foren hab ich immer wieder gelesen, dass der Box trotz XXL-Format Bass fehlen würde. Ich hab das Teil jetzt gute drei Monate und muss sagen: Wem da noch Tiefen fehlen, der soll dann doch bitte Bass spielen. Dennoch ist die Wahrnehmung des Sounds natürlich eher subjektiv und wer ne gute Box sucht sollte eh mal probespielen gehen. Ich kann aber nur dazu raten, diesem Koloss eine Chance zu geben. Ja es ist tatsächlich ein Koloss. Die rund 60 Kilo machen das teil natürlich extrem unhandlich, was meiner Meinung nach aber durch den Sound wieder kompensiert wird. Mir macht das Teil jeden Falls höllisch spaß und es sieht auch noch gut aus. Diesem Monster wurde zum Glück auch eine anständige Bereifung spendiert, der zwar ein Stopper fehlt, aber bei dem Gewicht bewegt sich dank Massenträgheit eh nix. Das Gitter ist extrem stabil. Wenn ihr also trotz guter Box scheiße spielt und die Leute mit Dingen nach euch werfen, einfach hinter der Box verstecken, die hält das aus ;) Ausserdem ist der Grill auch gut, wenn man mal was aufnehmen will, denn man kann die Speaker sehr gut sehen. Für die, die mit dem Mikro näher an die Membran wollen, ist das Gitter auch fix ab- und angebaut.
Mein Fazit: Ja, sie ist teuer. Ja, sie ist sauschwer. Nein, ich bereue nichts!

Qualité de son : Un son "épique" comme je dirais. Je l'ai couplé avec une 5150, tout y est! Une lourdeur dans les rythmiques, une précision dans les solo's, je recommande!
Qualité du matériel : son seul défaut est un poids un peu élever ( 63kg la bébête! ) en revanche c'est un matériel robuste et qui gère une bonne résonance. On sent bien la puissance des V30's.
Je ne regrette en rien cette achat, même si je ne l'ai pas essayé avant de le prendre, aucune déception! Je ne changerais pas avant un bon bout de tps ( il faudrait qu'il me claque entre les doigts). T

Ich habe die Box seit nun ca. einem halben Jahr. Klar die Box ist schwer, mit 63 kg alleine auf keinen Fall zu tragen, aber die Mühe lohnt sich. Jeder Ton ist höhrbar, egal wieviel Gain eingestellt ist. Vor allem aber, die Box schiebt ohne Ende und erzeugt einen Druck den ich bei keiner anderen Box gehört habe. Ich habe Mesa, Marshall, Bogner, ... Boxen ausprobiert, bin aber bei der Englbox hängen geblieben. Der Unterschied zur Engl E412VS Pro ist zwar nicht soo groß, aber einen kleinen Unterschied beim direkten Vergleich merkt man. Ob einem der Aufpreis einem Wert ist, muss jeder selber wissen, mir war er es Wert ;D

An sich kann ich die Box nur empehlen, wichtig ist aber immer noch, die Box vor dem Kauf auszuprobieren.
