Great features for a low mic stand
DrCheese 10.09.2021
I use this for its expected application of miking kick drums but also for Foley and sound effects recording when a low height is needed. I have also used it as a table mic stand!

There is a lot that I like about this stand - the base is very heavy but this helps a lot with stability which is important as the boom arm is capable of reaching out quite far. The legs are also quite short and this helps with placement in awkward places. The main boom arm adjustment is opened and closed using a clip rather than a screw; I find this a quicker solution and it remains secure. The other screw-adjustable points on the stand use soft rubber wheels which are extremely comfortable when turning. Their screws tighten in a nicely damped fashion but they also feel totally secure.

The three feet feature funky lime green rubber rings which Gravity tell us are so that the legs are visible on stage so we don't trip over them - you can swap these with included black rings if you prefer something less conspicuous.

Cable clips are includes on both the boom arm and on one of the base legs.

A highly recommended choice for a versatile low mic stand.

An excellent, very sturdy stand
Alex Dascal 09.01.2020
I am using this stand for miking under the snare drum. The construction is very solid, the base is very heavy which helps keep it well in place. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend using this stand for a series of applications that require a low height -- miking under a snare, miking a bass drum, a small cabinet, etc.
I have been using it for a couple of months now and I have not had any issues with it. Most of all -- because of it weight, it held it's position very well when moving other stands around and tripping over this one.
Pros:
- Very sturdy
- Very good build quality
- Rubberized screw-nuts make it very easily adjustible
- The boom arm is extendable
Cons:
- None
Warning:
- The tripod can be a problem when used in tight spaces (under the snare there can be a lot of stuff you need to take into account -- double bass pedal/axis, hi-hat stand legs, cymbal stand legs, etc)
- If you have a lot of clutter where you need to place the stand -- you might want to consider a stand with a circular base -- Gravity has a short model of the sorts
