Lækker jazz og rockguitar til næsten ingen penge.

En af mine guitarister havde denne Harley Benton 35Plus med til en øveaften og jeg måtte jo lige prøve den. Jeg var solgt med det samme og bestilte en her hos Thomann samme aften. En anden af mine venner har også købt en efter at have prøvet den hos mig, så min bedømmelse omfatter 3 eksemplarer, hvilket skulle eliminere tilfældigheder en smule.
Den er utrolig velspillende og ligger godt i hånden. Bindingen gør, at ingen skarpe bånd stritter ud, ligesom det ser godt ud. Den var nem at sætte op til den strengehøjde jeg bruger og intonationen er perfekt.
Finishen er første klasses på alle 3 eksemplarer, smukt Vintage burst og lakering, flotte blokindlæg på gribebrædtet og Wilkinson pickupperne lyder rigtig godt og er meget alsidige, da man også kan splitte dem op i single coils hver for sig med push/pull volumeknappen.
Eneste issue har været, at pickup vælgerkontakten på en af dem ikke var spændt ordentligt fast. Det blev dog hurtigt ordnet.
Min guitarist bruger den ofte i vores orkester og den lyder helt fint, ja bedre end hans Les Paul Studio, der skærer lidt i ørerne.

Really nice guitar

This is so cheap that it is a joke. Its the Plus-version with coilsplits. In humbucker mode the PU's are bland and dull sounding, but in coilsplit mode they come to life. It plays really nice. One minus is the weight. Its heavy in spite of F-holes, but well balanced.

Really nice guitar, but....

This is a really nice guitar with a fantastic finish and good sound and function. The knob switch for humbucking/single coil is really nice.

Fretting is perfect, only two frets are slightly too high in specific spots, but nothing to complain about

Only thing I found during the setup, which I always do meticulously, was that the saddle has a wrong angle so that adjustment of intonation was not possible on the three thickest strings. What I did was to unscrew the three string support parts and orient them 180 degrees opposite. Not quite right, but it works.

I have another HB-35Plus in red. The saddle angle is correct on this one.

I am happy to see that this guitar is not cracked at the joint between the neck and body. I have seen two other HB-35Plus with this issue.

I'm an acoustic player who has wanted to try his hand at el guitar for a while now. I'd been looking at budget semi hollows of late & had my eye on an Ibanez AS73 or an Epiphone dot. That's when the HB35plus caught my eye. After a bit of investigation it seems that the Harley Benton guitars are made at the same factory in China as many of the budget guitars by the other big name brands. The big difference seems to be the price, with the HB's coming in at nearly half the price of the 2 mentioned above. I received my HB35plus Vintage Sunburst a couple of days ago & am very happy with it. It looks beautiful & has no obvious quality control issues. It plays very nicely & was set up well out of the box. Great stuff for a great price !
