Fun at rehearsals

I bought this as a bit of a joke, and thinking that perhaps it was a bit much to spend on something so trivial.

In fact, I have had a lot of fun with this already. I use it at rehearsals with different bands to lighten the mood. Some people are irritated by it, some are amused by it, and some ask where I got it so they can buy one too.

I've also used it at musician meet-ups where I need to get everyone's attention. It's far nicer than shouting, and far less peremptory than a referee's whistle.

The biggest problem is preventing others from using it. Obviously it is not hygienic to allow lots of people to blow through it, especially since you can control the sound to some extent by sucking after blowing.

I plan to take this with me to my next gig ...

Expensive but very good

Very good sound and build quality. Also very easy to manipulate. The whistle responds very accurately to breath changes without mechanical side-noises. Only downside is the price. But there is no alternative in this quality as far as I know.

Old school solidity and class.

First impression; a box who's advertising style clearly has not changed since days of yore (don't fix it if it ain't broke). Love that :-)
Second impression; the whistle itself. Hefty weight, solid build and quality sheen of good steel.
Third impression; the sound. Oh my god!! What a whoooop! Loud, clear and FUN :-) Only warning; don't blow this hard around anyone with sensitive hearing it is LOUD. (which is exactly what I want)
Note; you can unscrew the outer casing to clean the rotor within but just be careful doing so. It is solidly built but it's a delicate enough moving part.
Overall; worth every penny, you'll have this for YEARS :-)

Funny sounding.

In my childhood we used to have plastic siren whistles that would break the next day after you bought them. I didn't know how they were called, and didn't know how they were called in English. Found it "by mistake" here and was very happy to reclaim a childhood memory.
I use it from time to time in concerts with marching band as a "funny sound". It can get pretty loud.
The construction is pretty solid.
