Erinomainen kitara vaativaankin käyttöön.

Epiphonen Humbucker Classic Pro mikit erinomaisia, en lähtisi vaihtamaan. Laatu kaiken kaikkiaan erinomainen. Omistan myös Tony Iommi Epiphone signature SG:n vanhemman version ja tämä sopii erinomaisesti sen rinnalle astetta lempeämmillä saundeilla (kontra Gibsonin Tony Iommi mikit). Ainoa valituksen aihe; yläsatulan (nut) korkeus. En viitsinyt rokottaa pisteitä siitä että yläsatula vaati hiomisen, joka mielellään jätetään ammattilaisen tehtäväksi. Satun omistamaan viilasarjan, joten suoritin toimenpiteen itse. Soitin oli ala-arvoinen alimpien nauhojen kohdalla eli ylävireinen soitettaessa. Tyypillistä käsittääkseni Epiphoneille (mielipide perustuu pariin omistamaani Epiphoneen ja Epiphone User Groupin keskusteluihin). Olen ostanut Thomannilta 16 kitaraa ja on ikävä kyllä myönnettävä että välillä laaduntarkkailun ohitse pääsee häpeällisen isoja virheitä. Tosin olen pääsääntöisesti ollut tyytyväinen. En siis arvostelussani voinut rankaista Epiphonea laaduntarkkailun virheistä. Asiakasta ei voi velvoittaa viilaamaan yläsatulaa järkevälle korkeudelle tai ensisijaisesti kitaran saatuaan viemään sen ammattiluthierille. Onneksi itse omaan perustaidot mainitsemiini säätöihin.

A sharp looking SG at a great price

Always loved the Custom format and its great to see an SG from Epiphone with this classy look.
Love the new "Kalamazoo" headstock, it adds to the looks with its clean bound "open book" cut. The addition of TUSQ's Nubone nut is a great improvement to tuning stability and the guitar stays in tune with the vintage Kluson style tuners.
The neck is true with bound ebony fretboard and fret work has been done very good, no high frets or sharp edges. Profile is on the fat side of '60s slim taper.
Setup from out of the box was great no need to adjust intonation or neck bow, just had to lower the action as it was set too high.
Pickups are ok for the price I guess, I don't mind them as I plan to replace them. Great improvement is the use of CTS pots, thing is they used long shaft so the knobs sit quite high on them and that leaves a 0,4-0,6cm gap between the knobs skirt and body.
Wiring is the usual Epiphone with quick connectors for the pickups.
The Epiphone TOM bridge is something I would like to see upgraded since its saddles are retained with a springy piece of wire which over time it oxidizes and falls apart.
Over all finish of the guitar is great with some minor imperfections around the neck binding. Total weight is 3kg so its pretty light.
In summary it's a great guitar for the money, Epiphone had some great improvements for 2020 and with some minor hardware upgrades it can become a killer axe.

A very good guitar.

I am very pleased about this guitar. It is a matter of taste but it looks stunning.The guitar sound is the typically SG sound, I love the Alnico's humbuckers. It has good tuners.
I inmediately changed the string on the guitar, because they were truly out of tune. A very good guitar for this price.

A comfortable and versatile rock machine

It's a very comfortable to play guitar, both sitting and standing up. The sound is fantastic, the build quality is spotless. It Only requires a string height and a scale adjustment. The neck is slim and wide which is extremely comfortable, the tuning machines are stiff and precise. The stopbar is nice and heavy, the saddles and the nut have perfect depth for each particular string.

If you're dreaming of an SG - you won't be disappointed
It is definitely worth the money
