Good set up straight from the box. Good to have the PJ pick-ups to find any sound you want. All as it should be. Lovely with some flat wound strings.

Great little bass, future classic!

My sample is perfectly executed - great fretwork, nice woodgrain, very precise neck joint, great paintwork... (I had a poor experience with higher ranked AM PRO bass). Sound is quite powerful and tight/compact. Compared to my AM ELITE P bass, this one is less versatile and not so punchy, a bit less defined (clear), J magnet is not so growling and delivers some floor noise (Elite is silent due to noiseless pickups). Playability is effortless – Mustang is app. 1kg lighter than P bass, has substantially smaller body and shorter neck, while strings have less tension. Included "deluxe" gig bag is light and offers only mediocre protection, besides it is actually designed for long scale bass. EXCELLENT, BEAUTIFULL BASS - RECOMMENDED.

Absolutely beautiful bass, I already have a PJ Mustang and wanted to upgrade to the JMJ but then this american model came out. Made the purchase and its everything I hoped for, I cannot beleive the quality for the price, I would have expected to pay at least ?2k for this. Sound is amazing, great tone and playability straight out of the bag with a pro set up. The stringing through the body really makes this bass hum sweet. I put the la bella flatwounds 760F-Mus on it and this thing BOOMS, the roundwounds that came with it also sound fantastic. Note that the gig bag provided is for a long scale bass. If you are thinking of a mustang or upgrading then get off the fence, I think this model will be a future classic.

Shortscale für den Gitarristen

Vorausschickend , ich bin prof. Gitarrist und habe einen Shortscale gesucht um die Bässe für eigene Songs und Produktionen zuhause einzuspielen. Ich habe noch einen Yamaha BB300 longscale, das ging, aber war nie das, was ich wollte.
Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Bass, Bespielbarkeit, Sound - soweit ich das als Gitarrist beurteilen kann - sind grossartig. Ich spiele den Bass komplett einen Ganzton tiefer. Daher musste ich am Setup zuhause noch ziemlich schrauben und auch die Saitenwahl war schwierig.
Mit D'Addarios ELX160M funktioniert das gut, waren mir am Anfang zu brilliant, aber nach einer Weile hat sich das gegeben.
Einziger Wermutstropfen war die Befestigung eines der vorderen Pickups. Da war eine der Plastikkappen schon so ausgebuddelt, dass der Pickups nicht mehr höhenverstellbar war. Mit einer grösseren Schraube aus dem Baumarkt war das zu beheben, ärgerlich trotzdem, aber für mich kein Grund, den Bass zurückzuschicken.
Entscheidend ist, ich habe echt Spass den Bass zu spielen und übe jetzt sogar Bassspielen .... :))
