Strip the paint and close the gaps with minimal tape…
This is a children’s toy and not the kind of instrument you would hear Canned Heat play.
I found it can only be plucked in one direction instead of two. The number of available bends are fewer than a good Jaw Harp would be able to produce, and I really had to sand it and modify it to even get something that might be recognizable as a tone with some bends out of it.
Making this Jaw Harp fun cost effort. If you want to please yourself or your kids in the long run, get yourself a good one that’s responsive and easy to play by nature.

Not a sturdy and sounding weak
Before I played a custom made "komus" Jew's harp but this one is absolutely other story. The tongue's end is not comfortable to play cause of its sharp edge - it should be the round one for fast and comfortable playing (finally my thing became broken). The sound fades very quickly.

Solid jaw harp
A decent jaw harp - makes a good resonant sound and the finish seems to be of a high quality - though I haven't used it a huge deal yet, at present, none of the blue finish has started to wear off. A good, simple, cheap jaw harp.

I'm a bit scared that this might injure me. Probably that's why I couldn't always get the sound from it, but from time to time it appears. Still need to figure out the correct way to play it. But other than that satisfied with it.
If you're a beginner like me I would recommend to start with Danmoi Jew's Harp.

Endless harmless fun for the player - highly irritating to listeners!
It's not much to pay for a simple mouth instrument that's easy to learn and fun to explore (YouTube videos to get you started). You can spend hours exploring all the sounds you can coax from this simple little resonator but your family might leave home while you're doing it!

reviving the past
Jews Harps were imported into England in medieval times and were subject to customs duties. They are far easier to carry about than a drum or didgeridoo. About time they were more widely revived
