Nice and versatile bongos
A pair of all around bongos for practising and occasional recording. I was actually positively surprised with the broad palette of different tones I could pry out of these. They can deliver anything from deep bass tone to a high-pitched sharp snap.
The build quality is very good - no rough edges or other defects. They feel robust and respond pleasantly to the touch. Even the tuning was ok straight out the box.
Easy to tune, and also keep the tuning steadily. A good tuning tool is included in the package.
The drums deliver anything I can throw at them and I don't see any need to upgrade in the future even if my bongo-banging got more serious.
Perhaps my only reservation would be on the weight and bulk of these fellows. Being a bit larger in diameter than many other bongos in the market, I could easily imagine they might be a bit tricky to hold between the knees for somebody small-framed. The drums are a bit on the heavy sound, which has both good and not so good sides. The good thing is the drums stay steady even when hitting heavier. The bad side is of course that it takes some more effort to hold the drums.
All in all, a very good pair of bongos. Pleasant to play, a broad palette of different tones and also a beautiful piece of work to look at. Perfect bang for the buck (pun intended).
