An extremely sturdy foot rest for your seated playing

I bought this foot rest while exploring my seated guitar playing position. I've since moved on and found ways to play without a separate raised platform, but I can definitely recommend this foot rest to anyone in terms of build quality, ease of use and sturdiness. The one slight caveat with this product is that the rest angle cannot be locked. Instead, the angle of the foot rest is determined by the pressure you place on it with your foot on either the front or back of the foot rest. This may or may not be a feature to your liking, but I found it somewhat troublesome.

Nevertheless, the foot rest is well made and will serve you well if you're looking for something to help with the ergonomics of seated playing.

The Mey Chair EFS-93 Foot Rest is put simply the best foot rest out there. It has a great non-slippy foot-plate. The height and angle is adjusted by only pressing a knob with the heel of your foot due to the hydraulic Gas absorber. This is the first foot rest I have ever come across with a hydraulic Gas absorber for adjusting the height elevation that suits the user. This is a great function as you might be sitting on different kind of chairs, each with different heights when playing. This foot rest gives the maximum of comfort and of ergonomical support. I couldn?t recommend this product highly enough for all guitarists. It is amazing how a little guitar accessory like this can make such an amazing change to my technique and to the way I can practice now.

I don't understand the whole concept. If you need an adjustable footrest, it should be portable. This rest is huge and weights a ton, so you cannot carry it with you. It is not sturdy either. You cannot lock it into a position. If you put a bit weight on it, the rest goes down - the spring is too weak - or the top part swings.

I worried I was being extravagant buying such an expensive footrest, but after a week with it, I think it really is worth it. It's very solidly built, and the pneumatic height adjust with foot button is really useful. I didn't think I'd use it, but I do, all that time. Don't know how I did without it!
