Latency should be just 2ms, compared to playing thru plugins and >7ms latency ( on my setup), it feels lot better. I would recommend using reverb to give the sound more "room". I have loaded in 3rd party impulses, which I use more, but some of the cabs in radar aren't bad at all.

While I do not have much experience of using real power tubes, the simulation on this pedals doesn't seem too good. It helps smooth out harshness, but it also alters the tone alot, which is of course desirable, but the change is bit too exaggerated. I would have liked to see a dry/wet slider for how much you want tube effect.

Editing patches on radar itself is simple and fairly fast, and importing your own IRs is easy. Editing on external editor is a breeze, except for EQ, which design is full of bad decisions.

This is a pretty ok solution for jamming thru headphones, for recording when there's no access to better gear and space, or have as a backup for a gig. Tho this definitely isn't a replacement for a real cabinet in terms of sound and feel. It's lack some features other units have, which I would like too, but it's adequate if you just need something simple, or already have attenuator/dummy load for your amp and just need something to house the IRs.

EDIT 27.7.2022: I haven't really used this in years, but decided to give this a go for fun. What I immediatelly noticed is that the dial has gone really bad. Turning the knob changes the just about everything else than what you want it to, you try to cycle the patches forward but it goes back, you try to increase master volume a little bit, but it decreases by 20 etc etc. I don't know if it's just my pedal, has it taken hit during storage, but it's basicly unusable at the moment, except with editor.

Good IR loader
GtrTim 12.10.2019
Mooer radar works ok, no problems sound wise. Changing IR's etc is very easily done by rotating the knob. Editin is a bit trickier, but
not that difficult once you get the hang of it. The Mac SW does not keep
track of loaded IR's, but the device keeps those. So , You need to remember what you've loaded to the device. All in all it works for me in home recording.
I have not tried it in live situation yet

Huge upgrade for a decent price
mariushoog 03.05.2019
Bought the Radar specifically to upgrade the sound my POD HD500X, instead of upgrading to a Helix or Axe FX. Although I still have a lot of experimenting to do, I can already say that the Radar meets (or beats) my expectations and breaths new life into my HD500X. Sofar I have only used it as the final component in the signal chain (1/4 out into the Radar to mixer to headphones/monitors) and the difference in sound is substantial. Used the Radar with my own IR's (replaced the stock ones with the free downloadable editor) and the improvement is well worth the 129 euro's I paid for the device. To my ears it brings to HD500X very close to a Helix.

Tips/Pro's/Con's;
1) Rename your own IR wav's to meet the length limitations of the Radar, prior to uploading.
2) Think about the sequence of your presets, as you cannot move them around after you've saved them.
3) The Radar is NOT a loadbox, so don't connect your head to the radar without a speaker or loadbox attached to your amp.

Pro's
1) Great value for money
2) Poweramp model's and EQ's available allow for finetuning or varying your presets.
3) Great sound
4) Store upto 30 third party IR's into the unit.
5) Well build, small footprint

Con's
1) External unit, so apart from changing presets on your POD, you need to also change the preset on the Radar that you've designated for the POD preset.
2) Seperate adapter (12V DC) required, however appearantly the Mooer should also function on 9V DC).
3) Limited functionality in the editor.

In all, great device, highly recommende.
