Best distortion pedal for rock and metal
Revv G3 is the most versatile distortion pedal I have ever used. The build quality is superior and reflects the passion of the designer.
The sound palette of G3 is huge. All knobs have wide range and you can easily fine-tune the tone with accurate and responsive potentiometers. The Aggression button is the heart of the pedal. It enbles 3 different voicing and gain structures, which are then adjusted by the tonestack settings. Everything from juicy open chords to articulate drop tuned picking with the distortion level you want, is there fo you :-)
I like this pedal so much, that I have 2 of them; one for lower gain settings and the other for higain metal settings.
The dynamic feel of G3 is outstanding. Pedal reacts nicely to guitar volume and is easily boosted/tightened with overdrive pedal in front of it if needed. G3 has the lowest noise level of the higain distortion pedals I have ever used and I have used thes a lot :-)
Revv G3 emulates sound structure of the purple channel (CH3) of the Revv Generator 120 tube amplifier. I have made comparisons with my G3 pedals and my G120 head and the outcome is that G3 is not 100% the purple channel. G3 has similar nyances, but is still different, partially due to the limited voicing options in the G3.
G3 sounds fantastic when played to the clean channel of a tube amp. Similarly, it sounds killer when played directly to the effets loop return as a preamp. I like the "G3 + clean channel" -version more, since it gives me wider tonal options; some from the pedal and the rest from the clean channel and power amp.
Revv G3 is definitely worth of testing, then you know how many you will buy those :-)

No regrets
Pedal is simple enough and gives a nice sound to my small home amp.
Nothing is lose or cheap looking and all the knobs really change the sound.
The aggression switch is also great. First time you switch between blue and red, you realise why they named it aggression.

Monipuolinen ja hyvältä kuulostava säröpurkki. Tästä tuotteesta on paljon ylistäviä youtube-arvosteluja, joten pakkohan se oli itsekin ostaa. Tämä on kyllä ehdoton hankinta kaikille metalli musiikin ystäville!

One of the best Overdrive pedals I have ever tried
Simple to use straight Forward pedal. Clear open sound. I use it with 30w tube amp. In my experience it's more effective & usable in the effects loop, that may depend on your setup. The sound is very in your face compressed very open but not muffled at all like many overdrives out there. Very well built. Only negative for me was that paint job in some areas was a bit faded. Definitely a keeper

Pedal for the Metal
Metal music and a bit heavier stuff players, there?s really no excuse not to own this one. This pedal "chugs" your old ones back to closet.
If you're more into low gain stuff.. well that?s the only thing that this pedal lacks, simple as that.

There is not a lot of great high pedals out there but this is a one. I even think this pedal is the best high gain pedal out there.
So about the sound you can listen lot of youtube clips about the sound. Well with words all I can say it's a really good sounding high gain pedal.
The pedal feels well constructed and reliable. all through it is not that heavy even my TS mini heavier.
Overall the pedal is great for drop tuned guitars and leads. Not saying that you can't play it with a standard tuned guitar but you probably get the most out of it with drop tuned guitar. It is absolutely a monster sounding pedal would recommend.

Amazing distortion pedal!
This pedal kicks ass! You can get a good distortion sound for metal and rock music with this easily. I'm using this with a Fender HRD and for me it delivers the goods.
I highly recommend trying this or the G4 out.
