Hyvä mikrofoni
Moro moro 04.03.2023
Toimii hyvin kitaran äänittämiseen. On hieman vaikea saada mikki aseteltua oikein äänitykseen, mutta kun se on kunnolla, ääni on loistava.

The best small diaphragm condenser mic for the budget
Tuntematon 16.02.2016
USE:
The Rode NT5 S is a small diaphragm condenser mic that has cardioid characteristic and frequency range from 20Hz to 20kHz. It has frequency response mainly flat with little low shelving from 100Hz and high shelving from 4kHz.

SUMMARY:
These mic can give you the kind of performance that far exceeds what you'd expect from condensers at this price range. The NT5 S is an excellent mic for recording practically any instrument and voice too.

PROS:
1- Comes with windshield, standmount and case.
2- Full frequency response.
3- Low self noise.
4- Excelent price from Thomann.
5- Can work with the NT45-O interchangeable omnidirectional capsule.
6- Freedom to use it live or studio.
7- The built in quality will surprise you, from home to studio projects, this is a professional mic.
8- The amazing 10 year warranty from Rode when registered!

OPINION:
I ordered this mic from Thomann because i wanted to record my acoustic fingerstyle guitar EP with mid-side technique. In conjunction with the Rode NT2-A, the Rode NT5 S is the best addiction you can have. Same brand from the same store, super quality!
I recommend you not to mod this mic because you'll loose the Rode warranty. If you are so concerned about its sound, you can search for other alternatives such the recording mic positioning, room treatment, plugins or even your guitar/whatever.

Go for it, i'll never regret and you'll never sell it :)

Great on many instruments
Tuntematon 07.10.2015
I absolutely love this mic, I will most likely sell this individual one and buy a matched pair as soon as I can afford it. I use it mostly on acoustic guitar, and especially my Martin sounds absolutely amazing through one of these. I use it on several types of whistles and other wind instruments as well, the included pop cap comes in handy in those situations to prevent wind noise, and the sound is very detailed. Shaker sounds good, haven't tried other percussion though. I've used it to record a guitar amp as well which was okay, but nothing special. A combination of SM57 and a decent LDC still works a lot better.

I even recorded my own vocal through this just to see what would happen, but that didn't work out too well: the s sounds were incredibly sibilant, which is to be expected for this kind of mic.
