A good kit, minor issues

The kit is overall very good and probably the best value kit with an 18" bass drum, though the clawhooks on the bassdrum feel a bit cheap.

The problem is the tom/cymbal holder.
I couldn't get the tom holder to put the 12" rack tom in the position I wanted, so I used a tom attachment mount with a cymbal stand.
This makes the tom/cymbal holder quite useless in my opinion as you can have much better placement options with clamp mounts.

The pearl wrap is beautiful and with good heads the kit sounds amazing.
This is my main kit now and the 18" bass drum packs a punch too.

Good sounding kit

I have to say that I was more than satisfied the sound of this little kit!
Tuning was easy and I found exactly that sound what I was looking for.
This kit is worth of all money! Thanks Sonor and Thomann!

An absolute gem

Very impressed with this lovely little Sonor AQ2 Bop kit - 18? Kick, 12?, 14? Toms. Even the 14x6? snare is sounding delicious.

Workmanship is top class. Design of the kit hardware and ergonomics is excellent. Sounds very nice. I cannot fault the kit.

I?ve had near on every kit going, DW Exotic Collectors, Pearl Reference, Recording customs, Maple Customs, Teardrops, Ludwig super classics, Delites, Starclassics, Signia, and many more, I can honestly say this kit edges and for me, just tops, each one of them. Based on build quality, design and ergonomics, sound (though this is easily tweaked on any kit) , looks, and price. There?s absolutely nothing missing from it.

The white marine pearl is beautiful, nicer than the ?60s Slingerland wmp kit I had at one stage. It is a unique pattern, a modern and very tasteful take on the classic.

Well done Sonor.

Quality in every respect

I'm a beginner drummer (one year in) and having started on an electronic kit I wanted to move to an acoustic kit. I was looking for something that would last me for a long time, so build / production quality was important to me when choosing. I read lots of product reviews before settling on Sonor and then the AQ2 Bop set as my choice. I'm delighted with this purchase. The AQ2 oozes quality in all of the elements and fittings. It's a great value set and really my only regret is not taking the plunge with this sooner!
