Pocket Inspiration
Just wow. If this thing doesn't make you smile within 5 minutes, you just don't like making beats!
It's genius. There's a lot of subtlety in the timing of the effects, and because they are triggers, rather than say on the Po-12 where they are constantly applied, you can create so much variation.
The "gating" "limitation" is GENIUS! So (I havent used the microtonic software yet) the kick drums are all on "Group 1" (The left column as you look). Then left to right, its group 2 -4...
So you can choke your own drum loops, creating build ups, and then unleash the effects for fills!
With the time stretching effects, you can create amazing stuff.
You just gotta be constantly in the flow! No midi to do it for you ;)
For coming out with ideas it's genius.
It's just a shame there's not a way to spit out midi data, just to capture - to apply to say a drum rack in ableton.
You will come up with stuff on this, staring at ppl walking down the street, that you never could before hahah!
Line up some beefy kicks, and a nice pattern....then play with that Bassline (Bottom left corner). If that doesn't make you laugh...i don't know :)

Microtonic in a box
The PO-32 tonic is a killer drumsynth. You can sculpt your sounds on the unit or upload them from the Microtonic VST plugin. For the money it’s the best drumsynth around.

Super Fun
It's a really fun toy/instrument to play with! You can take it to anywhere with you since its really small but sounds big! A good drum machine to buy.

Great, specially with the microtonic app
The device is great just like any PO. It works very similar and the sound are very moldable with the A & B knob.
Still you are stuck with the sounds you get, that is the bad part. The good part is you can find sound sets and patterns on the web you can import.
The additional Microtonic app gives you the chance to create your own sounds and import them to the Tonic, but the APP is sold separately, only a 20% discount for Tonic owners.

Teenage Engineering PO-32 tonic
Plug it into some speakers, you’ll find a surprisingly capable drum machine, based on a deep synth engine. While the sounds are not fully programmable from the unit alone, you can get a lot of variation from the sound morphing, automation and effects. The effects in particular make a the PO-32 useful, letting you drop in momentary fills, variations and little flourishes of sonic interest on the fly. If you want to go deeper, you can add the Microtonic software ($99) and gain complete control over the PO-32’s sound engine. And it’s genuinely pocket sized if you like to keep something more tactile than a phone with you for some beat doodling

Great for any use.
I bought this PO practically because i just wanted to sample the different sounds that come with it.
I think that you can use it for music production as it has a sequencer and it's just really interesting to use.
I do not think it's anything groundbreaking, but if you like old school video game sounds and aesthetic, this is a wonderful instrument.

This toy is amazing. The sound quality is great. I've used it in many of my productions and I'm looking forward to buy some of the other P0

Nice little pocket drum maschine!
Only con is that you have to own a tonic license in order to transfer sounds/sequences
Otherwise a nice little pocket drum maschine that can keep you companie on your otherwise boring urban transportation ;)
Cheers
