Zappa fans will love this!
When I purchased this instrument I was not looking to have something just for fun or to have kids play it. I really picked it up because of my love and addiction to different instruments and exploring different sounds. Another inspiration for this came from Zappa and trying to integrate even such 'theatrical' sounds into the music.
Another review here mentions that "it is hard to keep it in tune", and that is in fact a very interesting thing about this instrument and by no means a negative point. If you are aware of what you are buying, you should look no further than Wikipedia which mentions that "traditional kalimba note layouts are often idiosyncratic, sometimes with adjacent tines making part of a scale, but then an odd note thrown in that defies the pattern". When I saw that explanation I was sure that this instrument is for me.
The feel of the instrument itself is really great and the finish done on it is pretty nice and neat. You should not expect a very loud sound from this tiny instrument, but if you know what you are buying you will definitely get an idea where to use it imaginatively.
For sure it amazes everyone around you if you show it to them and kids will also love it, but the interesting point here that remains is the the unusual sound and layout it offers you to get creative with while playing it alongside other (un)usual instruments.

Perfect entry level instrument for kids
I bought is for my daughter and she really likes it.
The sound not that clean compared to the traditional (not coconut) kalimbas. But actually I prefer more the sound of this, it has a woody tone.

Suprizingly good for the price
I bought this kalimba as gift to my daughter, but then I had to quickly buy one for myself as it can be quite practical in settings where you need more funky sound.

Fun to play!
I picked up this instrument for a kindergarden storytelling project.
At first,when played,the kalimba produced a buzzing sound,but after some tweaking and rearranging the metal bars it started to sound quite good. The build quality is quite decent.
This is by no means a professional instrument,but It's really fun to play and it's not that expensive.

I love this!
Wanted to buy a kalimba for some time to try it and since I'm not a percussionist, I went for the cheaper option at the time, which was this one. I admit I also liked the coconut idea from the start anyway, but I did not expect to get so hooked on this. I don't think I've ever played any other instrument as much and it always comes along on any trips. Kids love it, grown-ups love it, everyone loves it. What else is there to say?...

Nice & cheap coconut kalimba!
I have ordered this coconut kalimba mainly for desk decoration (I have more expensive kalimbas) but I found that is also playable! Nice design, quality & sound and a very nice price! :-)
