Very Impressed
Anonymous 18.02.2016
Through trying different Amplifiers and different Distortion pedals , I've found the best tone for styles like Metallic, Pantera and Slayer through this pedal , the Gain is unbelievable , if you have a guitar equipped with EMG's or any sort of Active Humbuckers then you should definitely try this out .Ive been trying to replicate the tone on Metallicas Master Of Puppets for years and i was able to get this very close with the EQ control , Also able to get a very nice Pantera-esque tone from this pedal , if you play any type of metal i firmly believe this pedal will settle your differences , A very good choice and im very happy with it , used in bedroom , studio and live gigs , i have tried and tested and it has never failed me once , right out the box it sounded bad to the bone , Heavily recommended guys !

Basic, hated, yet in my opinion quite good choice
Shredinger 16.03.2020
I bought this pedal for to widen my choices and to discover whether the hatred it gets is deserved or not. I use it in FX loop of my M/B Rectoverb or Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 40.
In spite of my rather low expectations I was pleasantly surprised, it's just wholesome no nonsense distortion pedal, which allows me to get the heavy sound I desire. All in all there's a reason Rob Barrett of CC uses (or used to use) it.
A solid choice, well built and I'd recommend it to anyone as their first distortion pedal, or just to add to their collection.
The bad reputation it sometimes gets, is not really deserved.

MC
Extremely Underrated
Mature Chedda Chee 23.06.2018
The versatility of this pedal is unrivalled, which can often cause people to believe that the pedal is unusable. This is merely a case of the 4 band EQ being so sensitive and dynamic that it is so easy to make a mess of the sound. If you take your time and experiment you will find at least one sound that will appeal to your filthy metal mind.

Truly a workhorse!
Hannes944 09.10.2013
Despite quite small knobs, they are really sturdy. Once you learn the EQ and how to tweak your sound, it is easy to use with almost any kind of electric guitar. It's most suitable with metal and any heavier kind of rock and has a balanced tone even with the gain turned way up. However I don't recommend it for blues since it has a little bit more agressiveness than your average overdrive pedal. I highly recommend this pedal if you're looking for a quality metal sound that handles high gain with ease. The switch is very responsive and makes a smooth transit when turning it on or off which makes it great for live performances.

Huge sound for a low price
Karby 17.01.2021
I bought this pedal after seeing how Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro uses it with his stratocasters. I have been using it with a semihollow guitar and its quite full sounding, but just a bit too transistory at times

Distortion for special use
Anonymous 15.12.2014
This is pedal, what you need if you play melodic/soft heavy (e.g. Nightwish). Outside (soft) heavy I have found very little use for this, since I'm not a heavy musician. The sound is almost the same regardless of the type of your guitar :-) This is in a way funny. Some people call this soft chainsaw distortion. There are also many modification possibilities for this box.

great for everything from blues to metal

this pedal has a bad rep but without extreme settings it can serve you anything from nice warm blues tones up to metal.
