An amazing musical experience
Calvinios 26.06.2020
this is a delay to get excited about. It has a personality and can be regarded as a sound/instrument in its own right. Do unlock the power of the pedal with the footswitch for ramping and turning off/on the modulation section it gives loads of dimension to a pedal that can do everything from slap back to aliens landing on the lawn, wibble wibble and make it sound fun.
I am someone that hates noise in my chain. This pedal has its own sound and a type of noise when activated but I found it to be musically pleasing. This pedal is built well and has done nothing but inspire me.
When buying a pedal there is a good chance the pedal has a role/function to fill in a pedal board. This delay is, and should be, well regarded for being analogue, having tap tempo and expression pedal possibilities and a host of modulation/ramping/drive features, not to mention it's own effects loop (!!) all at a great price. That should not work against the fact that this pedal is also lush and warm and deeply musical and can do straight delay jobs very well, if not better than what you are currently using.

I noticed a small volume bump when I activated the pedal. That has to be taken into account when put in any chain or used for any working function. In my case, I fell in love so hard with the sound of this pedal that, I realised it was an instrument in its own right and has its own section of a board when I use it. It really can be an entire soundscape generator in its own right, though I would suggest the requirement of the FS3X expression foot pedal to unlock the joy.

First impressions : Great tone and very musical!

I was blown away by how this pedal adds warmth to my tone (even when low in the mix). Without knowing much about the inner workings of pedals, I’d say this has an awesome buffer (?).

The momentary switches (rubberneck / regen) are an easy way to spend a few hours experimenting, but also seems like it would work well for live settings if dialed in. Although a bit unpredictable, you can easily release the switch(es) and return back to the dialed settings to instantly regain control.

As a reggae / dub enthusiast, I was interested in being able to control self oscillations: allowing you to go from clean and tight repeats- to messy - and back again (hope that makes sense).

I have to say that the momentary switches work amazingly well for this kind of dub applications; allowing you to accentuate chords / notes and spiral in and out of cavernous echos.

I also picked up a T ring cable to use the effects loop - interested in a Phaser and or Flanger to really chase that dub guitar sound (think : Scientist).

A very versatile analog delay to say the least!!
-Gbass04- 07.05.2020
This thing is Endless!
Has long has you enjoy Analog delay, it is impressive!

I use this with an upright bass in many different circumstances.
There is a lot a control possible over many of the parameters of the delay, like the tone and drive with really change the colour and flavour of the delay.

The modulation is also very nice, it can be really deep and fast and also very light and natural.

What is really interesting and unique about this pedal thought, is the possibility to control and change the speed of the delay with a foot switch, making it possible to create octave jumps for example at the tap of your foot.

Another really great feature is the external loop that affects only the delay sound multiplying the possibilities, you can add for example an EQ, a harmoniser effect anything you want!

If you want to really explore all the possibilities, there is a last connection on the back that can control each switch on the pedal and turn on and off the modulation, but you can also use this connection with a cv message to turn on and of the switch modulating the time to create a sort of octave sequencing!!

It is a very versatile analog delay to say the least!!

Get it while you still can!
Archion 25.09.2021
For about 160 euros you'll get an awesome sounding analog delay with a really nice array of features! The only thing I wish it had was some extra wave shapes for the modulation, but that's just nitpicking, considering its' price and the different options it already has. As it is unclear for how long the Digitech/DOD pedals will be manufactured, I strongly recommend you to grab it while it's possible! If you don't like it you can always send it back and I'm quite sure it will have a great value in the aftermarket.

Les petits plus...
Arpeggio72 21.06.2021

Good delay with lots of possibilities.
Ninus 03.11.2020
I bought it to replace my EHX memory boy.
The pedal has a lot of good features, it can go from standard delays to dreamy ambient long ones. I really like the REGEN function which, if well adjusted, can give you almost an infinite tail without turning into a feedback. Using the modulation knobs you have endless possibilities to shape your tone and get modulated repetitions.
The tails switch is awesome.
It has a loop too, but didn't try it yet.

This pedal has no cons, the only thing I have problems with, is the on/off button. It is ok, but super soft and if you don't push it the right way with the right force it does not engage or it will engage the rubberneck effect. I just have to get used to that, since with other pedals/delay I never thought about how to push the button, just push or keep it pushed while I play, but you can't do it with this pedal, you have to engage the button properly.

Excellent and unique analog delay
Akseli 03.10.2021
For an analog delay the Rubberneck has plenty of features, control and versatility. A great variety of tones are very easily accessible. What sets this pedal apart from other analog delay pedals is that the Rubberneck offers plenty of room for experimentation - it can be a very interactive, "instrument like" pedal if you want it to be. That's why the Rubberneck is why it's one of my favorite delay pedals.

The only nitpick I have is the layered double knobs, but this design choice is perfectly understandable for the amount of control you get for shaping the delay sound in a small package. Also, the sound can be a bit "noisy" with long delay times, but this is normal in the analog realm. I don't consider it a flaw at all, but this may interest others so it's worth mentioning.

Highly recommended for both general use and experimental sound sculpting.

A solid pedal for sure
Cyngiel 07.06.2020
However, I realized that I don't need such complex pedal and finally sold it, keeping my old trusted Biyang AD-10 delay instead. While Rubberneck is far superior pedal for sure, as it features a built-in tap tempo option and has the ability to get a dotted eight delay etc., it really is kinda over the top for a bedroom rocker like me. In addition, it takes way too much space and consumes a lot of power. You need a dedicated power supply too. So, while a great pedal, you may want to get youself a cheaper, smaller, more user-friendly, and less power-hungry effects unit. After all, most of us are only using their delay pedals for some slap-back, typical 400ms delay, and some self-oscillation stuff. Which a lot of cheaper and smaller pedals handle just fine too.

Super duper!
AmericanCoco 18.07.2021
I got this to use with my small pedalboard. I'm pretty pick with delays and reverbs, and it took me a couple of weeks to grow on me. Now, however, I'd be hard-pressed to take it off my board. Absolutely stellar analog delay.

On of the best delays at any price
_Nikon_ 30.09.2020
Digitech nailed this one. It has most of everything anyone needs, and some things no one will need.

Tap tempo is a great tool, and the myriad of sounds this thing does is suitable for a Pink Floyd concert on LSD spiked mushrooms.
