A great "PAF" reproduction by Dimarzio!

I'm very pleased with this pickup. I was looking for a worm but still defined and kind of "HD" sounding pickup and this was the one, that was on every "top ten" list around. It's great tho, because it's on the cheaper end too, but sounds just like the top end ones.
Mine is installed on a Ibanez archtop, and i play mainly jazz music, and it's super clear with the chords, punchy with solo lines and super dynamic.

Pros:
-Great sound and feel
-Superb definition with chords
-Very dynamic
-Warm sounding, but biting when you add some overdrive/distortion

Cons:
-I just had some issues with the springs that holds the pickup in place. Those got in resonance and made noise, but got them replaced with the rubber tubings and it's great now(springs like this come with almost every humbucker tho, so don't let this back you off)

Great pickup for the money, great sound and quality. Anyway sound is a subjective thing, so try out as many pickups possible, but for me this was the best sounding!

I was planning to buy this pickup for a long time for the neck position on my Explorer.

Boy is this great! The sound is very full, fat bodied and expressive. It doesn't get muddy. It just sounds fabulous!
It splits very well too. (I split to the pole closer to the fretboard).

OMG this may be the best neck pickup for mahogany guitar.

Great vintage sound, full of tone, clean and clear (never muddy)

I have these in a couple of my guitars. They have just the right amount of output and have all the tone you'd want. They sound like big, fat single coils rather than mid-heavy, fire-breathing death 'buckers! Clean sounds are actually usable (without any mud) and with overdrive they sound just as great. The only negative is that with chrome covers they are slightly more microphonic -in that tapping them with a pick can be heard through the amp when using moderate gain. However, this is par for the course with covered humbuckers and, at least being potted pickups, they don't have the type of microphony that squeals!

Superb pickup.

I installed into the neck of my SG and it sounds great; it can be sweet and it can growl. A really nice classic PAF that cleans up well - similar to a Giv=bson 57 but at half the price. They put these in 5000 euro Gibson custom shop Les Pauls, so you know it's a great pickup!

want vintage PAF's? look no further, this is a monster PAF, so much clarity, so much midrange, feels like I'm playing a real '57 goldtop

The most PAF-y sounding PAF clone available for sensible money.

Bought these to drop into an early 80's Burny I bought a while back, as I've never been a fan of Japanese pickups. I've never been a Dimarzio fan either (Seymour's Pearly Gates are my go-to normally on many guitars - especially all-mahogany, and Iron Gear are great when on a budget), but a buddy with a plethora of Les Pauls and different pickups had a set in a cheap Edwards Les Paul that sounded absolutely killer (despite his lack of ability). The guy has dozens of Pauls and this was the closest to his R9 than anything else he owned.

Upon fitment, I was rewarded with the most Les Paul-y Les Paul I've ever played. Job done, splendidly.

Top job, Dimarzio.
