T
Awesome solution to acoustic panel fixings.
Thurlough 04.09.2014
Really good solution for applying acoustic tiles to walls. The best part of this product is it doesn't damage the investment or the walls. The installation of the Velcro was relatively easy with the instructions provided. Another bonus is that you can remove the acoustic panels from your wall at anytime so you have the flexibility of using your rooms acoustics. Another plus of this product is that you can cut the Velcro strips to suit any applications to the wall. I tend to use this product with more acoustic panels and bass traps in the near future. Would recommend to any people who want an easy no mess solution to acoustic treatment fixings.

S
50 cent velcro sold for 20 ¤
Soundgrifter 07.11.2018
The glue on the velcro doesn't attach on neither concrete, painted wall or panel wall. The glue most certainly does NOT hold the weight of the panels. I have had to use around 10 pieces for one panel, which means a set of 6 panels needs at least 3 packs of this overpriced velcro. I'm pretty sure the glue won't hold for more than a year, leaving anyone who continues using this product forced to invest 60¤ each year in a poor product- continuously.
Simply NOT WORTH it.

A
I had high hopes
Anonymous 09.07.2015
But as for bass traps and elements that are a bit heavier than acousic foam or mineral fiber slabs, it fails miserably.

#attempt 1
I put them on the wall, then put them on bass traps "EQ Acoustics Spectrum Corner Trap L"
After 48h I mounted the traps, they started falling in 2 hours. The adhesive didn't work on the traps.

#attempt 2
I put new ones on "EQ Acoustics Spectrum Corner Trap L", 6 in total, this time I put some good glue as extra adhesive. I bought the glue from construction shop.

This time, the traps have been standing for a week.
After a week I can see that it starts to come off the wall (mind, that the instruction says that you should cut each strip in 4 pieces, I didnt cut and put 6 of them on each bass trap).
So to prevent the fall I tore one bass trap off the wall since it had visibly slided downwards.
This time the result was that it was coming off the wall slowly and it also came off the bass trap, BUT, the new glue I bought held, and the adhesive came off the STRIPS instead!!
The two strips holding themselves together were the strongest part! Those didnt come off so easily.

Another observation that the glue works well on some cases and not so well on others. I have multiple bass traps on walls, but only one had visibly slided downwards, other ones show signs of adhesive giving up on walls.

So to cut the long story short. If you have acoustic foam or little small pieces of acoustic slabs, then go for it.

In case of bass traps, I am going to now go to some local store and buy two way strips that go together like these, but are without any adhesive. I will put the strong glue I bought on them instead and I'm sure this will hold.

I can't say money wasted since it was an experience, too bad it didn't work out, I really hoped it would.

Alternatives to glue
Malike 22.12.2021
These strips are 'wall-friendly' in relation to glue and work really well on absorbers/foams. Depending on the type of wall, they may fall off after a while, but these strips are easy to replace with new.
