Slinky for Grownups
jalbert 02.03.2018
We all played Ernie Ball classic Slinkies.. they were cheap, Didn't Break that often and were generally the most affordable name brand strings. These Strings are the Big brother to the ones you Grew up with. Smooth feeling to the touch (a bit Lie Elixers) and they Sound Amazing.. Lots of Clarity and a tight low end.. very evenly voiced..

I have a Very neutral sounding strat which I like. I needed strings to match that. Bright Strings make the Sound thin.. and Flabby Bottom end makes it sound muddy. This was exactly what I needed. I purchased 9s but they have great sustain and a big sound like 10s .. Im very happy with my purchase.

F
The most durable strings
Flame.Vlad 24.11.2021
These are my favorite strings so far, great sound, durability and strength. Regular strings Ernie Ball are also good, but their durability does not suit me, since I play mostly downstrings, then my sixth string often breaks, I don’t know why, perhaps the problem is in the angle of the brigade or in the string, but this is not important, the important thing is that cobalt strings are much stronger, louder and have a richer sound, when lowering the tuning to drop A, they sound great on the Gibson scale. I will use these strings as long as I have enough money for them, and if I don’t have money for them, then I will save up, because these are the most metal strings ever !!!

A
Interesting timbre, darker color than standard.
ArtAmbartsum 19.11.2021
The sound has become clearer, brighter and louder. Hopefully the statement that cobalt increases string life without sacrificing sound quality is also true. I wonder if there is a function supplement a review? ))

a
très bon choix pour tous les styles
allanjazz 24.07.2021

Bright, loud but a bit lack of midtone and warmth
nightingale 26.04.2018
These strings sound brighter than the regular slinky's, louder and a bit more aggresive. I tought those strings would be my partner for a more rock/metal style I play . First I was happy with their sound and they last a bit longer than the regular slinky's but after a while noticed I missed the warmth that the regular slinky's gave me so I switched back to the regular ones

No Brainer

What can I say, its Ernie Ball. For the money unless you want coated strings these are the standard for me. The Cobalts have such a crisp and powerful sound from top to bottom. I have always relied on Ernie Ball strings and find these are really durable and very rarely break, I play mainly rock and metal so their great punchy sound makes these the set i return to every time.

Premium Strings for Premium-Guitars...
Anonymous 11.05.2014
I normally play the Standard Ernie Ball Regular Slinky Strings - but last year I bought a LTD ST-1 (which is my Main-Guitar now) and so I thought of testing some other strings. The Ernie Ball Cobalt Strings are packaged like the other Ernie Ball Strings - everything fine! After putting the strings on my guitar, the first audible thing was, that they sound clearer than the Regular Slinky. The Sound out of the Amp confirmed it very well. It's a very clear tone from clean to High-Gain. I think, they are a little bit more stiff - but that's no problem. They really sound great and open! But why just 4/5 Stars? Well, I think 1 big Star goes to the Mojo-Factor... I haven't tried them on my other guitars than the LTD - but as I wrote in the headline, I'm shure, it will give your Premium Guitar a little bit more comfortable playing.

A
Actually sound rather splendid
Anonymous 28.04.2015
I was a bit sceptical that I would notice any difference between these super-duper cobalt strings against the standard regular slinkys that I normally use, but I thought I may as well give them a bash. Having strung up my Gretsch with them I was actually pleasantly surprised, they sound really bright without being harsh, and they also feel really great. Made a believer outta me! I'm a cobalt guy from now on....
