Electro-acoustic with a cutaway

As a subsidiary of Fender, Squier has been producing affordable yet high-quality instruments for a very long time, and the Squier SA-105CE NA is certainly one of them. This unbeatably priced dreadnought is made from tried-and-tested woods and comes equipped with a Fender preamp. Its sound is perfect for both song accompaniment and finger-style playing, and the deep cutaway provides comfortable access to the upper registers. The headstock also features a set of robust diecast machine heads to ensure accurate and reliable tuning.

Dreadnought shape for a powerful sound

When it comes to acoustic guitars, the dreadnought shape has long been popular thanks to the loud, powerful sound with which it is synonymous, and the Squier SA-105CE NA lives up to those expectations thanks to its laminated wood body, spruce top, and solid nato neck. The latter features a stained hardwood fingerboard, and its slim-taper profile and comfortably low string action make for easy playability, a real bonus for those just starting out on the guitar. To ensure that it can be heard on stage and in the rehearsal room, the guitar is also equipped with a pickup system complete with controls for volume and tone as well as a built-in tuner, so all the essentials have been provided.

An affordable beginners' instrument

As its extremely affordable price suggests, the Squier SA-105CE NA is primarily aimed at beginners, most of whom have to get by on a tight budget. However, they get a fully-fledged dreadnought for their money, and the onboard Fender preamp means that they won't have to struggle to be heard during gigs and rehearsals. All the same, experienced musicians looking for a reliable second instrument for the rehearsal room and the stage that won't hurt their wallet would do well to check out the SA-105CE. Lead playing is also no problem, as the SA-105CE's deep cutaway provides effortless access to the upper frets.

About Squier

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Incidentally, Squier has existed as a company since the 19th century. It supplied Fender with strings right from the start, before being acquired by the company in 1965. Fender has been producing its iconic guitar and bass models at beginner-friendly prices under the Squier brand since 1982.

All the world is a stage...

The Squier SA-105CE NA's dreadnought shape and cutaway provide plenty of volume and make both rhythm and lead playing extremely comfortable, so players will be fully equipped to handle every scenario - from practising at home and jamming outdoors with friends to playing amplified on stage or in rehearsal. And because the guitar's onboard preamp also features a built-in tuner, it is just as easy to keep the instrument in tune as it is to amplify it.

A
nice guitar starter from Fender

I bought this guitar as it is the cheapest I can find under Fender's flagship for my local church. What caught my attention with this guitar is the fishman built in pre-amp that blew me away how crisp the sounds are when finally hooked it in an amp. Previously played with a Yamaha guitar from a friend but this simple guitar makes a lot of difference between the two.

Yes it is cheap and not sturdy compared to expensive ones I admit but it is one of the amazing guitar I ever played. I wonder how much better it will be if I spend more than that on a Fender electro acoustic.

Anyway, completely happy that manage to get it cheap from Thomann as they saved my day again. Would you believe that I can't find a decent electro acoustic guitar with this price here in the UK, not alone in a bundle.

So try it and I am sure you won't be disappointed if you want to buy this guitar as a beginner but be warned that this can change opinion to an experience guitarist.

Fender Squier SA-105CE NA

I have played guitar for 5 years now and have played dozens of guitars and having bought this guitar for my sister as a beginner guitar and having now played it several times myself I can say that it's a great buy for the price. The tuner is fantastic as well as being a great convenience when trying to tune in a loud environment and the sound is as good as you're going to get for a guitar in this price bracket and it feels great to play! I would highly recommend this to any beginner guitarist.

My only piece of criticism is that after some down tuning and 6 months of frequent usage, there are strong signs of fret buzz which worries me as it can be quite costly to address that problem, a problem which shouldn't be encountered so soon in a guitar. Any guitarist who plans to gig quite a bit and especially if they intend to use alternate tunings, they may find that they'd be better off with a slightly higher range guitar.

But other than that, I was relatively pleased with the overall quality of the guitar!

DG
What a guitar!

For the money you pay, this guitar is flippin awesome! I've lost count of how many show's I've done with mine and it's still in mint condition, not a single chip to it and the tuning maintains itself for ages. It's definitely a must buy, if you're looking for a guitar to be playing at pubs and so forth something that sounds cool but not too expensive, in case anything happens to it. I'd buy this guitar again anytime!
