Quality bridgepins without an inflated price tag

It's the little details that make a guitar stand out and play better. Often forgotten are the bridge pins on your acoustic. Usually these are bright white plastic pins with black dots and most, to be fair, do the job fine but after prying them out a few times during string changes it isn't long before they start wearing down, chipping or snapping - all of which will ultimately affect tuning stability.

It's worth upgrading them to a sturdier wood, brass or bone and these Harley Benton Aba Eye dark wood ones are perfect, particularly if you have a darker coloured acoustic to blend in with. Even if you don't, most acoustic bridge saddles are rosewood or mahogany so these will be sure to blend in perfectly.

Another quality product from Harley Benton that arrived quickly and in great condition. Looking forward to getting these put on my Epiphone John Lennon acoustic on next string change :)

Eine optische Aufwertung

Ich habe mir eine Harley Benton Westerngitarre bestellt und sah schon auf den Produktfotos, dass die Stegsteckerl und der Gurtpin aus billigstem Plastik sind. Schade! Das passt doch gar nicht zu einem ansonsten wunderschön aus Holz gefertigten Instrument!
Deswegen habe ich mir gleich dieses Set aus braunem Tintul (eine Palisanderart) mitbestellt. Die Steckerl sehen real mindestens genauso schön aus, wie auf den Fotos. Sie sind sehr sauber gearbeitet und absolut glatt geschliffen. Die Abalone EInlagen schillern in allen Farben. Wirklich hübsch!
Trotz fast 40 Jahren Erfahrung mit Westerngitarren dachte ich bis jetzt, die Größe der Stegsteckerl wäre irgendwie genormt. Bisher haben die bei mir immer gepasst, wobei aber seltenst eins kaputt gegangen ist.
Diese Steckerl passen allerdings nicht auf Anhieb zu einer HB CLA-28V (und wahrscheinlich alle anderen HB Westerngitarren) - dafür sind sie zu dick. Also habe ich mich hingesetzt und in Handarbeit die konischen Zapfen mit einem feinen Schleifpapier abgeschliffen. Da geht es nicht um Millimeter sondern um Zehntel. Ebenso beim Gurtpin.
Doch es hat sich gelohnt! Jedes Steckerl wurde massgefertigt und sitzt perfekt!
Die Gitarre wurde damit optisch erheblich aufgewertet und jetzt passt das gesamte Erscheinungsbild perfekt!
