Just what I needed!
Having recently purchased a Höfner bass and learning that the bass had a 30 inch scale, I decided to play it safe and get strings from the same manufacturer.
The strings are great quality and sound excellent. I’ve never had any issues with tuning stability or breakage and find these strings last a good length of time.
They may be suitable for other basses of the same scale length, I can’t speak for longer or shorter scale lengths, but they’re the perfect strings for my Höfner. I’ll be using these every time I need a new set.

Great price and quality
I was looking for short scale strings for my Gretsch G2210. I didn?t wan?t to spend a minor fortune for good strings and stumbled across theese. Based on reviews i took a chance and pressed buy.
I?m actually suprised over the quality and sound. They got a nice feel to them. I find them smooth and with very little finger noise. Mounted on my short scale Gretsch they go along great.
I really nice detail to them is that they have green silk. Like Epiphone who have red on the original strings. It adds a nice touch!
Good quality for a low price. Good sound and feel. Great buy if you don?t like to put to much money on strings.

not very fancy rounds for a 32" winding length
Hofner Beatle Bass is a 30" bass, but it takes medium-scale (32"), not short-scale (30") strings. and has the guitar tuners, so you won't be able to fit long-scale strings. so this is the set that would fit.
I wouldn't call these strings fancy or very good sounding, but it's rounds that work for the Beatle Bass. this said, I prefer rounds on my Hofner, but went to other brand of strings right after upgrading tuners and didn't look back.

Not cool at all
This is the first time,i wanted to actually try Hofner short scale strings for my Hofner bass(and definatelly the last time).
Well,im not impressed. The sound is ok,but the quality is just poor.Purchased 4 packages aprox month ago,and i broke 4 strings already.I use Dunlop tortoix 0.73 (the yellow ones) plectrums.I play every night in Beatles tribute in Mallorca, and i need reliable set of strings. Tried it and it failed for me.After a week of using, they become very hard to play, and i need to use tons of fast fret to be able to slide my fingers on them. Not recomending.
BTW,Thomann is a great shop

Great VFM.
When it's time for a change, these strings will go on a (almost new but new to me) Hofner Contemporary series Verythin bass, 500/7 short scale.
The instrument's almost certainly fitted with them anyway as the feel of the strings is the same and they both have the dark-ish green silks.
As a dedicated flat wound string user, I'm surprised how good they are. One thing that's immediately obvious is the much reduced finger noise and relatively smooth feel.
Anyone using Hofner short scale basses would be well advised to buy a pack if they are ordering from Thomann, simply because of the price!

Good
If you have a Hofner violin bass you need to have the special strings.
They aren't the best string in the world but you need to have the special ones so at least it isn't really expensive

Bread and butter
Tried and tested, use these regularly for gigging and have not had string failure yet. Although I replace after every 10 - 12 gigs. Tried various other strings including Pyramid gold flatwound but have suffered string failure, sometimes after only 5 or 6 gigs. Good overall sound for the money.

Great rumble and classic sound.
Great on my Icon....A great medium between flats and other short scale strings. Have lasted a while. Thinking about a set on my Eb3...?
