Quality in a small package.

Well - 4 gigs in - and these little chaps are doing very well indeed. I use them with a pair of Peaveys Pro subs (passive) running at 500 watts RMS per side.

Now - I think the amp may be a bit too powerful for these even taking the subs into account - but I have not had any issues yet. I play in a 4 piece rock band on the usual 'pub circuit' and there is more than enough wallop. The vocals cut through lovely - great tone - nice balance - spot on really.

Now, I wouldnt bother with these without subs - if you are in a rock band or similar they will NOT have the 'oomph' you need - there is bass for sure - but not that proper low down bass that makes everything exiting - forget tryin' to but the bass drum through these.

As satellites - they are brilliant - and they look the nuts as well - impressive build quality.

We were using a pair of 15 inch Peaveys before - but this sub and CL110 combination knocks the old Peaveys for six.

Cons? woulda been handy to have parallel inputs perhaps? Oh - and the top-hats are tight on the poles - but that MAY be my sh*tty old poles?

All in all - thoroughly recommended!

And - as always - stellar service from Thomann.

;)

A
Surprisingly versatile little speakers.
Anonymous 22.03.2017
I ordered a pair of these for performing in smaller venues where I sing and play lead guitar with custom backing tracks.

I was immediately taken by how solid they feel and how good they looked on the stands. The first time I tried them out at a gig was at a new venue and I could see the bar staff looking at them and probably wondering where the rest of the speakers were going to go. Since it was a newly opened bar they had been trying out a variety of acts and had been overwhelmed by the nameless idiots who turned up with subs and 15" tops blasting out at ridiculous volume to a bar that could only hold 50 people at best..

I am now a regular in the bar.. These little speakers are perfectly capable of filling out the room with plenty of bottom end and nice clear highs and mid frequencies.
I have also used them at a beach gig with a pair of 12" Achat subs and had no problem playing to 300 people.

Would recommend buying the protective bags for these as I have done. In my experience with this type of finish, they can quite easily be damaged with only a minor impact. Would have liked to have seen a thru connector on the back instead of a single speakon but hey, look at the price..

Amazing!

I really underestimated these! They really do hold up to every standard you could imagine! The only thing I'd love to have on these, although it's really just luxury haha, is the ability to equalize the sound just a bit. Would help a lot when playing in different settings with different sound potentials.

Great little speakers

I bought these, as an addition to my current PA system, intended as use for monitors. There very punchy, and work great for small FOH systems too, with the addition of an 18" sub, you get a great punchy great sounding system. Love them!
