Thomann Short Scale Eguitar Gigbag: Good Value
Stephen6150 12.07.2015
I bought this bag for my Recording King lap steel guitar, which is quite a bit wider than some other lap steels but which is, of course, a lot shorter than a 'normal' electric guitar. This isn't a lot of choice available regarding this size of gigbag, and I narrowed my options down to this Thomann bag and Fender's Urban Shorty Strat bag. The Thomann bag costs less than 17 Euro, while the Fender bag costs 30 Euro. The Fender definitely looks the nicer bag, but as I am more concerned with value-for-money than aesthetics (at least when it comes to guitar bags), I opted for the Thomann bag.

The bag is actually slightly too big for my lap steel - which is approximately 3 cm narrower and 5 cm shorter than the Thomann bag (the internal dimensions of which are stated as being 88 x 24 x 6 cm). However, the ample size of the bag is not a problem, particularly since I added some additional padding (consisting of some rolled-up bubble wrap wrapped inside an old [clean] sock which I taped to the inside of the bag with gaffa tape) to make the lap steel a very cosy fit inside the bag.

The bag appears to be well-made from a 'tear and water-resistant' material. The zips work smoothly and the shoulder straps fit me perfectly once they are extended to near their maximum length. The 10 mm foam padding is adequate. The Fender bag has 11 mm padding but I doubt whether the difference would be noticeable. I agree with some other commentators regarding Thomann gigbags that the zip on the outer pocket should be positioned differently (at the top of the pocket rather than on its side) but that is only a small quibble.

In conclusion, I have no hesitation in recommending this item as a good value and good quality bag for mini guitars and lap steels.

Good bag, does the job.

This was for a Harley Benton SC-200BK Mini, and it fits well. The bag is tougher than many others on offer, and it is well stiched with good fittings and zips. The accessories pouches on the bag are generous in size and easy to access.

It wasn't quite the travel guitar I envisioned....my bad. Harley Benton name allowed me to sell it locally for what I paid.

Bought for Ibanez PGMM21 and fits good.
Looks and feels pretty tough, seems to protect the guitar from some mechanical impacts and from changes of climatic conditions wery well.
This bag is much better than i expected, maybe not very elegant but reliable and secure.

a
Nice bag for little instrument.

I ordered this cover for an electric guitar and it turned out to be small. Of course, this is my problem in choosing the size, I understand. But to evaluate the cover is still worth it. And to say that he is bad would be a lie. It is strong, locks work softly. There is a rather large pocket, which even fits the effects processor. A tool case of its size is very worthwhile.

Good quality zippers, large and useful pockets. Seems solid and sturdy. More foam protection than in my Fender gig bag (which came with the American Performer strat).

My son has been using it now for over a year and it's still in good shape, stitching still intact, very sturdy, 2 nice storage compartments for picks, books, tuner, metronome etc.

Fits H-B ST-Juniorwith some room to spare
Rob_Shorty 02.01.2018
Nicely thickly padded for my new Harley Benton St-Junior with about 8cm to spare. Robust zip with a slider from each end. Rubber 'foot' at blunt end for when you stand it upright. Two external zipped pockets for accessories. No internal pockets. Balance good on carry handle and shoulder straps feel comfortable and big enough. Feels very good for careful trips in car. This is not a rigid case so no strength against severe bangs and bumps.

I like cheap gears with good sound 02.03.2024
I am traveling a lot, and this bag secures my guitar very well, and also I find the pockets useful in that I can fit a Zoom 606 multi-effect pedal easily. The upper pocket is perfect for keeping my cables in order. I totally recommend this product for any short-scale guitar.
