DI for guitar that sounds good?!
Matthias9212 09.05.2014
Before i bought this little FANTA DI Box i thought that the only real method for recording is micing te spaker. After reading several reviews in the net, i decided to buy this little box. The way of sound is Amp - FANTA DI Box - Cabinet. You connect the FANTA Di Box via a XLR Cable to your mixer or, in my case, dircetly to the soundcard. The sound is really great. I made a challenge between the fanta box and a sm57 mic recording and i can say, i cant hear great differences between both. So, this is an easy way to record very quick.

Really Useful!

I bought this initially for recording my amplifier in my project studio, it produces a really nice realistic sound and is exceptionally reliable in use and reliving knowing that I don't need to constantly be worried about microphone positions. The F.A.N.T.A is a also equally usable live and so far has proven to be fantastic for sending to my monitors and even sending to the front of house as it is much easier to control than a microphone when taking in to consideration the full mix.

Robust, great tone, a little limited
MMihai3 01.11.2021
It is my favorite speaker simulator because it sounds, subjectively, like my Vintage 30 G112 cabinet. Its tone is full and deep, mid scooped compared to my other speaker emulators, which makes it versatile in this sense. Powder coated and very solid.

Its only drawbacks are:
- its quieter than other such devices I own, which doesn't help with the noise level.
- one of its XLR pins is unconnected, though its manual claims it has stereo output.

A Great Little Gadget

If you're going to route a valve amp through a sound/mixing desk, then this is the thing to use. It translates a clear signal and prevents the amp from overheating and blowing!
