This mute outstrips my previous practice mute by some margin. The previous mute was waffley in the lower register whereas the Wallace is very steady throughout the range and particularly good in the lower register - pedal notes are pure without any backing up in the instrument. It protrudes from the bell a little but is still fine to carry in the bell section in a decent sized gig bag. Given all of these qualities and the price of some of its competitors, it is good value.

Guter Dämpfer für leises Proben

Da man bei gelegentlichen Probestunden sein nachbarschaftliches Umfeld nicht unbedingt stören will, habe ich mir diesen Dämpfer zugelegt.
Anlass für den Kauf gab mir unter anderem ein Ratschlag eines Bekannten (professioneller Bassposaunist), der den Wallace auch fürs Üben nutzt.

Der Dämpfer ist gut verarbeitet. Er passt hervoragend in einen 10,5"-Schallbecher und fällt auch nicht mit einem unerträglichen Gewicht auf.
Beim Spielen hat man fast das Gefühl, als wäre kein Dämpfer in der Posaune vorhanden. Der Luftdurchlass ist erstaunlich gut.
Daher ist der Wallace Practice Mute auch meine Empfehlung für jeden, der in seine Nachbarschaft nicht unbedingt "volles Rohr" geben kann/will.
Jedoch sollte man sich bewusst sein, dass der Ton sehr gedämpft (was ja auch der Sinn des Dämpfers ist) herauskommt. Für jeden, der sich richtig bzw. im Real-Ton hören möchte, wäre dann ein Silent-Brass-System eine bessere Wahl.
