Excellent value

My bass guitar amp does not have a DI out, so this has had a permanent place in my gig bag for years. Even well equipped venues sometimes run out of DI boxes and this box has often saved the day.

I also use it as an additional XLR tap off from my bass to my in ear monitor mixer, to allow me to mix my bass level with the rest of the band without having to signal to the monitor mix engineer,

In a pinch I've used it for studio recording too.

Changing the battery is a bit tricky, but no big deal as the battery is only a backup - the box is usually driven by phantom power from the mixing desk.

Would definitely buy again if it went missing.

Value for money

I play electro-acoustic guitar in my band, and go straight into the PA. This is fine when we have our own PA, but frequently we have to use the venue's PA and mixing desk. You can face various situations:

- XLR cable snake to a mixing desk 20m away;
- No DI boxes available;
- Mixing desk is low quality with only mic inputs;
- Mixing desk has no phantom power.

I have had all these, and a DI box like this is invaluable because it can be battery or phantom powered, it has pad switches to reduce the output, and it is robust and cheap! If I was using my own DI all the time I would proably get a more expensive "industry-standard" DI, but this is fine for occasional use.

Solid and trusted

Behringer is one of those brands that people either love or hate. Personally beringer make some real gems which are sold at very reasonable prices. The DI100 DI box is one of these. Having purchased multiple DI boxes over the years I have found the Behringer to be well worth the money. I have purchased these for both myself and other clients. These clients range from churches, bands to schools. In all the time I have used them I have never had an issue. The boxes are well built and feel solid. The rubber edges make them more durable especially when they are on a stage floor. There are two pads which help adjust signals that are two high. From a price perspective they are excellent. Sound quality is good and unless you are running the highest quality PA and with the top musicians these will sound perfectly fine.
These are a solid and trusted unit which I always keep in my box.
