Amazing piece for its price
antrs 08.03.2020
pros:
Very very tweak-able. Put a drive and some compression before and it will deliver fairly good metal tones.

cons:
There are endless ways of dialing the nobs wrong :) so be patient.
If you are expecting to see the 'it's made of plastic' here in the cons let me tell you that it doesn't bother me at all. For it's price it's still a great product. And if you are really a beast and brake it, just buy another one and it's still a good deal.

Plastic?
Christianfernandez92 27.06.2019
Unless you want to jump on your pedals or you kick them or play soccer with them, AND EVEN THOUGH i believe this pedal will resist the stomps you might give it.
Yes, its made of plastic. A hard one though.
No, it does not hiss in normal parameters.
If you use it with an amp that has gain and distortion already and you crank the distortion on your pedal it might throw some noises, but this is normal on any pedal. You just have to use it as a normal pedal.
The output and the wide range of tones and distortions that you can get (not even mentioning that the sustain its PRETTY SOLID) makes this pedal perfect for some metalcore/deathmetal/deathcore and if tweaked correctly for even rock music. (Trashmetal will always be possible cracking everything up)
Nothing to envy to other distortion pedals like MZ ;)
Recommended.

This little pedal however plasticky it may feel to the touch has a lot of grit. It delivers a highly distorted sound with a lot of heavy metal punch and attitude for it's price tag.
For me, being a producer and session percussionist occasionally laying down a guitar line in a production, buying into the Behringer stomp box range makes a lot of sense both soundwise and when considering the cost/benefit aspects of it.
Great stuff cheap!!

Pink Metal Zone ?
KamKI 26.08.2020
Good sound. Distortion does what should! Back to back comparison to metal Zone shows it is really similar sound.

Like other affordable Behringers pedals it is plastic housing.

Con:
This is not true bypas and when it is turned off it still has some minor impact to sound.

Overall Good distortion in pink plastic housing.

Bargain alternative to MZ
ds23pallas 19.05.2020
It sounds like a Metal Zone.. if that's what you want this is a bargain pedal. It has a huge range of tone (too much really), the mid EQ has a massive range is is super sensitive. There are insane amounts of gain in this pedal, more than you could ever want or need. The range of usable sounds is pretty small in my opinion but the same can be said of the Boss pedal. For the price it's a bargain, my only complaint would be the cheap plastic enclosure.

I might have just used it 2 or 3 times before its jack broke done. Not so good tone but if you just need a cheap distortion to pedal there you have it.

behringer UM300...
Chris99 04.06.2013
Purchased over 9 months ago and its been on my board ever since!

Behringer copy other makers pedals its no secret and they do a very good job at doing so.

yes the case is plastic not metal!!for light to moderate use that's not a deal breaker.

The features are just too many to mention, but the tone and of this pedal for the money is just impossible to beat.

it more than stands up to the pedal its been copied from,to the point where it actually sounds better!!!

If metal is your thing, then for the money this is the pedal.

Overall great pedal for the price.
Jkvns 16.01.2022
This pedal is great for the price. It has a huge range of tones and in my opinion it sounds better than the Metal Zone ( the pedal it's based off) the only downside is that it is plastic but really for the price it's not a problem and it seems to be sturdy enough. Great pedal!

Bought to try out?...
Djangotaylor 01.07.2013
This is probably the best distortion unit in the ranger!...it's got six knobs with EQ settings etc....and if its distortion you want?...this is it!!!....however!....my tastes are old fashioned and i think it slightly destroys the natural sound of the guitar?...unlike the Tube Modeller TM300.....d;-)
