Great All Round Pickup
I was put off this pickup for a long time as the title frightened me into thinking it might be limited in its use. I play lots of styles of music...and was pleasantly surprised that this isnt just a one trick pony. It is however great with some crunch. clear and concise...biting but not painfully.
recommended as a replacement for bridge p90s which although amazing in the right circumstances...can be limiting. I now have this in a Les paul matched with a Lindy Fralin P90 in the neck position. Love it.

Perfect replacement for bridge p90
I have a Harley Benton JA kit guitar, which came with two p90 soapbar pickups. This pickup type sounded great in the neck position, but too thin in the bridge position. The dimarzio is a perfect replacement. It sounds great in itself, it matches the p90 in output strength, and they also sound terrific together. I am very happy with this pickup.
As a note, I had to use the red wire as ground to match the phase of the p90.

Teeth for a beast
My Les Paul became a beast with this pickup. I like sound of P90, but only for not distorted playing and only in neck position. I don't really know how to use P90 in bridge.
My Gibson has very clear and transparent sound. It's like playing the piano. Neck P90 pickup is perfect for high gain leads and strumming on amp's clear chanel. Bridge P90 pickup is good for overdriven riffs, but it has a lot of hum. I know, it was crime, and I changed it for Dimarzio Super Distortion pickup. And with this upgrade it become more multipurpose guitar.
