Not only for Nirvana
What happened to EHX? Nirvana fan club? This is usable chorus for different type of sound (blues, hard rock, classic rock, pop, jazz, metal, extreme metal) which I tried.
I've tested it on:
Gibson Les Paul Faded 2018
Fender Stratocater Deluxe
Marshall DSL40CR
Marshal MG10
Pros:
Great sound
Nice design
Strong box
Analog sound
3 command only - easy to handle and experimentation
Cons:
For God sake, don't put Nirvana everywhere. Yes, you can easily make Nirvana sound, but you can make manyu different sounds, so please stop advertize this effect with Nirvana. I opened package and found "your Nirvana@. I like Nirvana, I listen Nirvana almost every day, but I haven't buy Electro Harmonix Op-Amp Big Muff Pi Fuzz (valve based and great fuzz) only because it fits good for Nirvana only and similar bends. Think about it!

Love it!
A pedal to fall in love with...
Update:
Make sure when you buy the product that everything works as expected - my depth switch would randomly stop working but i thought it would be occasional as lightly shaking the pedal would fix this.
Now, a month after the expected guarantee I started playing with the pedal again after a long hiatus and the switch problem was more prominent. I opened the case only to find out that the switch wires had actually never been soldered - they had only been hooked on the switch (you can find pictures on my blog).
Of course Thomann will not take care of this even if the problem had been there right from the start. I was given a OA defective product yet its considered out of guarantee. I should have known better,
So, in a nutshell - great pedal, make sure though that you return it in case there is any -even occasional- problems! I would not hesitate buying it again.

Legendary!
In short; this is a truly inspired product that has not changed in years because it is as near to perfect as a simple chorus pedal can be.
It is replacing a vintage MIJ boss pedal that until this arrived I had viewed as the definitive basic chorus pedal.
It has all the hallmarks of genius; one dial and one switch, with which one can achieve a surprising array of noises from classic to far out crazy. There is more variety than just the tones they are famous for.
It is well built and looks like it will stand the test of time and punishment.
Cons: well, it isnt well suited to barefoot or slipper wearing players and it does require thinking about foot position and careful aiming before stomping, more mental effort than a boss for example.
In conclusion, this is just a must have chorus pedal for just about everyone.

Twangletrash
I bought this as a present for my wife. She's not usually a fan of using pedals, but already had an idea of what it sounded like thanks to Mr Cobain. But this is only the start.
She says:
With simple controls you can achieve a wide range of sounds from slight shimmer to full detuned chorus distortion. It's got good depth and is very warm.
With her Strat and Jaguar run through a Vox amp, she can easily get a great sound which she calls Twangletrash.
The guitars certainly sound fat and lively and the wide range of sounds inspire chord and picking style playing and writing.
She sums it up as a pedal with emotion and precision in a robust casing.
I say: Highly recommended for the love of your life!

Classic but not flawless
You'll get used to, but the switch is kinda' distracting the way it sounds, mechanically and in terms of sound.
The effect itself is very distinctive and sometime according the way you move the knob it can turn into a FLANGER! Or I am going deaf :-7
Anyways, a nice addition to my rig, the way the effect melts with your signal is for me, pro level, give it a try!

straight forward chorus pedal
the sound of the Small Clone is warm and catchy but REALLY TYPED - if you're not fond of its peculiar sound (and its "depth" feature), be sure to try other chorus pedals with more paramaters before making any decision.
I use this pedal paired with MXR's carbon copy delay to play psychedelic pop and jazzy grooves and it works like a charm
on both single coiled and HH microphones, imho.
although it lacks parameters, the scale of this chorus is sufficiently diverse and charming to explore its range entirely.
on the other hand, i really dig its big knob that can easilly be twisted with your foot while playing

K
what I expected
After all the things I saw and heard, this was what I expected. A simple chorus with good sound, used in many classic songs. only thing is that I wondered if the cheaper nano version wouldn't have been good enough already. I thought it would have been a little more solid. How Kurt Cobain used this so many times without breaking it... But nice pedal, really pleased

great!
I sold my Boss Super Chorus and bought this. I think this is not a diffuse and has a bit more character to it. Perfect for the Nirvana sound. "Come as you are".. It does make a ugly sound though sometimes when you push the ON switch with the amp on... Like a small "Bang".. Anyhow.,. It scared me the first time..

The perfect "Nevermind" and grunge sound!
This pedal/stompbox is really amazing! It delivers the perfect floating sound. The features as depth and the whole knob is really great, if you wanna try sound like the 90s grunge area. It also features more modern guitar songs very well.
The only issue with this is that the battery opening is very fragile and there is no separate plate from the opening plate into the core chip of the pedal. Dirt and water could very easily get in here, which I think EH could have made a easy and more safe design for.
Plus it's very big! Def not a "small" clone!

Smooth tone
I absolutely love this pedal.
I have been using this in my bass rig and it sounds amazing. Classic chorus.
It's definitely a no frills pedal as the only thing you can change is the rate but that's all I've needed.
It has the great feel of Electro Harmonix build quality with a solid metal chassis and the satisfying clunk of a well built switch.
Unlike the picture on the website, these now have a standard 9v plug like a Boss pedal rather than a jack type power adapter common with older EHX pedals. Definitely a nice surprise.
All in all, a great pedal with classic, no frills chorus. Beautiful.
