Love the bridge pickup, very good neck one. Might need some woodwork but great set
I'm not very good in soldering stuff so, when I was going to try an upgrade for the SG type I own I decided to stick on this set.
PROs
1) The sound is really different from the standard humb I previously have. I can say it's more balanced when using both positions. The great different I feel is more on the bridge pickup, a crunchy, powerful long sustained sound, great for riffs with a distortion effect. 2) The neck one has a more similar sound than a standard humb, yet it's very powerful.
3) The solderless cables are superb if you're not used to do this kind of work. They are quite resistant so you can stress them a little bit excluding the risk of breaking them.
CONs
De facto you'll have to study where and how to put the stuff in place. I didn't have a guitar with battery holder. So you need to reserve a space for the 9V battery. You need to place the battery not too far from the jack input, so I suggest to do a little plan measuring each part and where to place it. I had to dig a little hole with a tools file and changing the position of one of the screws of the cover. On the EMG website there's a tutorial video on a Gibs Les Paul and you can find all the specifications you need to evaluate the kit.
The only negative thing I found was this: the battery to jack cable a little too short so I had to do a little woodworking.
By the way, the pickups are a huge step up from the standard ones. I can't compare them to old Gibs humbs or competitors, but for my case they were great.

EMG Zakk Wylde set
Installed them into my Epiohone Les Paul Custom pro.
They do what you would expect from a EMG set.
I was amazed about how easy it is to install these!
If you are looking for a good metal tone and a system which is easy to install, I fully reccomend checking these out, they are worth the money.

Great metal chuggers
The pickups have that classic metal/ hard rock tonality we are used to hearing from Zakk, but also bands like Metallica. Impressive is also the packaging/ presentation, almost apple like. Installation is also very easy with the solderless kit, however i have a panel mount type output jack and a weird 3 way selector switch which meants some soldering was still needed. However installation was still a breeze.

Wonderful
Simply wonderful, this pickup set is exactly what I was wondering for my Les Paul Classic, a great solid sound, very easy to install and the instruction are very detailed. Very well made, great quality manufacturing.
Con: the potentiometers are a little bit thinner then the holes in my guitar so I had to use some tape to reach the right diameter. The result is good and stable

Easy to fit
Easy to fit instructions come with the kit ,came in a hard plastic case and well protected ,all quality parts in cables and pots ,very versatile and suits many genre's of music .great clarity and buckets of sustain ,pinched harmonics sound full ,an excellent set

Thomann delivered these pickups within 4 days of ordering them!! Faultless sevice yet again? The package comes with absolutley everything I needed to upgrade my Epiphone Les Paul, and refering to the video on youtube and the instructions, found the installation quite straight forward. Give them a go!!!

Beware though! Volume and tone pots ship with the long reach version. So, Gibson owners, best order the short reach pots at start.

A pure metal set up.
I had an old V guitar that needed some upgrading, and as im used to the old sound and touch of the 80s and 90s metal sound ala EMGs i had to choose these. Had them before on other guitars. The set up is so easy, anyone can fit it together and make it work (solderless). Sharpness of the distortion is the sweet spot. I just love them. Affordable as well.

I'm actually in love with the sound of the 85 mounted on neck position, a bit too "dirty" with distortion for rhythm but the cleanest, deep and richful sound I ever heard with clean tones or low distortion and solos. Best pickups ever
