High quality, but the size?
Gavin W 12.02.2018
The quality and general handling of the Gewa case is really excellent inside and out. Only issue was with the bag's capacity. I bought it for use with the LP classic Tumba; a 12,5" drum. I'd already removed the mic holder lug and put that onto my quinto, so from the point of view of a tumba with regular lugs, I found zipping the bag up with the drum inside was quite difficult. At first I actually thought it wasn't going to fit, which seemed absurd as how could Gewa make an error like this? After some perseverance I found that by stretching out the panels of the bag the zip would do up so I put this down to needing to wear the bag in a bit. Now having fitted a new mic holder lug to the drum I have to say that getting it into the bag is a pain in the neck. It's just too tight a fit. I will now be looking for an alternative case for the tumba and would recommend that if you have LPs with mic lugs that you opt for the next size up of whichever Gewa case you're considering; so 11,75 for a quinto; 12,5 for a conga and for a tumba I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
