Value for money

I'm quite new in fretless bass, its my only second fretless(previous was extra cheap and had some unsolvable troubles with fretboard), but this Guild one is really nice. I really liked quality of body and tuning pegs, pickup system has really good sound also. Only difficulty was in switching from standard/longscale instruments to shortscale Guild one, but it's only a question of time :) I'm also surprised why Guild didn't use tapewounds by default for fretless model since it's not easy to find my favorite tapewounds in local shops.
But anyway, it's 100% value for money. It's hard to find another such high-quality instrument in this price segment.

Lovely sound from this quality instrument

I fitted this with Thomastik Jazz flatwounds to get a lovely "woody" tone. It's not a double bass but with these strings fitted you get much the same feel and sound, ideal for working with other acoustic instruments. Unplugged it's pretty quiet (more quiet than a fretted acoustic bass) so you'll probably want a bit of amplification if you're playing with a guitarist. It's a very simple pre-amp, volume and tone only, but the important thing is that it delivers a very good likeness to the acoustic tone with no twangy edge. I also tried it with Warwick tapewound acoustic bass strings which have a brighter tone if that's what you are looking for.
Build quality seems excellent, the satin finish is smart and the setup out of the box was perfect.
Although it's short scale it's quite a big instrument because of the way the neck is set (if you look you can see the bridge is in the position it would be on an acoustic guitar, not where it would be on an electric bass).
Pros - Tone, build, great for acoustic sessions.
Cons - You'll probably need to buy some flat or tapewounds and the Thomann Acoustic Bass Gigbag.

You are Great!!!

Thomann lived up to the classic (and well deserved) reputation of Top Quality. The Guild B-240EF Acoustic Bass is a top shelf instrument. It was love at first sight, touch, and sound. I just don't understand why Guild used rounds as stock strings on a fretless. They are quality strings, but rounds don't belong on a fretless. But that's just my belief. Thomann was the only place that had this bass in stock and ready for immediate shipment. And they delivered like a true real Top Shelf business! Took it to the shop for my fav strings (flat tapes) and they said the setup was fine right out of the box. Awesome job Thomann! I would and already have recommend both Guild (this instrument in particular), or any Guild product, and Thomann !
